New for 2012! The B3SL1 features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp and is legal for play in 2012! After a long wait, the B3 finally makes its debut in senior league baseball! COMbat has wowed crowds and players alike over the years with some of the HOTTEST composite bats to ever hit the market. Expect nothing different this time around. The B3 SL features COMbat's classic one-piece fully composite design. The B3 is made with Blended Fiber Technology, where Arimid fibers (found in bullet proof vests) are combined with the highest quality carbon and glass fibers in varying proportions and precise angles to get more trampoline effect and absorb vibrations. The premium grade carbon fiber used on the B3 produces the highest barrel reactivity of any bat COMbat makes. This results in more energy transfer to the ball and greater distance. More Kevlar in the handle of the B3 also produces a stiffer feel than is found on the 52 Caliber. Through the use of Anistrophic Composite Technology, COMbat was able to create a composite weave that enhances key parts of the barrel to optimize performance and extend durability. The sweetspot of the B3 is enlarged through the use of Variable Stiffness Technology which lowers barrel wall stiffness on each side. This gives players mega pop on every hit! Durability and solid construction are key to this year's COMbat line. That is why they have added Nanocomp Technology to the B3. Nanocomp uses carbon nanotubes to effectively fill in gaps between fibers to dramatically increase bat strength. The B3 also features a higher grade resin than the 52 Caliber, making this the highest quality baseball bat COMbat has ever constructed. COMbat: For Players, By Players! This bat is backed by a Full Twelve Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: This is a great bat with a lot of pop right out of the box. I have only used it in 1 fall league game so far and would like it if the whole team bought one so mine don't get wore out.
Cons: none, nope, nada, and nothing wrong with this bat.
Pros: THIS IS THE BEST BAT MY SON HAS EVER HAD. HE PLAYS TRAVEL BALL FOR A 12U TEAM AND HIS COACH SAID IT HAS THE BIGGEST SWEET SPOT HE HAS EVER SEEN ON A YOUTH BAT. MY SON LOVES IT . HE HIT A WALK OFF DOUBLE TO THE FENCE IN HIS SECOND GAME WITH IT. HE HAS PLAYED 2 TOURNAMENTS WITH IT AND ONLY BEEN OUT 3 TIMES. HE HASNT HIT A BALL IN THE INFIELD YET.
Cons: NONE SO FAR
Pros: This bat is amazing I hope I never brake it
Cons:
Pros: Decent pop
Cons: Cap of bat busted about 6 weeks into use.
Pros: Great Bat. Hot out of the wrapper and it has a ton of pop. The grip is really good and the graphics aren't that bad
Cons: white grip gets dirty, paint chips and almost every ball you hit will be going posite field because it feels 1.5 ounces heavier than the normal weight
Pros: This bat holds true to the Combat baseball bat line. Very balanced, great pop and violent sound in the right hands. Excited for the 2012 season to begin!
Cons: Love the look/idea of the white grip- don't know how long that will last.

Ask QuestionIs this bat BBCOR?
Asked by noahman on May 06, 2012
The 2012 COMbat B3 is not BBCOR certified. Only adult -3 bats will have that certification.

Is this bat legal for Pony?
Asked by combat kid on Apr 22, 2012
Yes, the Combat B3 is approved from our knowledge this bat is approved for Pony. We always recommend you to get in contact with a coach or a league official first.

How does the -8 differ from the -10 in this bat for a strong 12 year old power hitter? Any suggestions?
Asked by Casey on Mar 09, 2012
They aren't different, except for the weight. This is just to provide more options for players at different levels of play who need different weights. Most 12 year old players will use a bat closer to a -8.

I recently purchased this bat for my son and I'm wondering if there is any break in period routine that needs to be followed? Thanks for the great service!
Asked by Tim on Mar 06, 2012
This bat is a one piece composite bat, and does require a break in. We recommend taking about 150-200 hits either off of a tee or soft toss, starting out at about 40% power and gradually increasing the closer you get to the 200 hit mark. Also, make sure you are using the same balls you would use in a game and are rotating the bat about a 1/4 of an inch in between each hit. This will help ensure an even break in all around the bat.

Can this bat be used in jr league 13U?
Asked by bigboi06 on Mar 06, 2012
This bat would not be legal for use in Junior League. All composite barrel bats used in Junior League must be BBCOR certified. All BBCOR certified bats are adult -3 bats. Since the rules do change for each league, I would suggest checking with your league official just to make sure though.

Can I use it for pony league?

Based on the information I have, this bat is legal for use in Pony League baseball. I would suggest checking with your league official as well, since each league can have different rules.

Compare combat b3 to cf5
Asked by Allen on Feb 01, 2012
Both are great bats, but the b3 maybe the more balanced of the two.
Shelbe Expert · Feb 01, 2012
My son (now 12 years old) has a B2 (-8), so we have to make changes. I'm looking at the Marucci Black, Marucci CAT5 squared, and ComBAT B3. He had a big growth spurt and is a power hitter. He could go -5 now (which could be of value as he is 2 years from high school). He always hit 1-piece bats better (too much flex in the 2-piece). I'm not sure about the Black's 2-piece structure, so that may not be a good fit. Could I get some educated thoughts on this? I appreciate your help!
Asked by rickh on Jan 25, 2012
The B3SL1 is going to probably more of a fit for him. This bat is going to be a one-piece comopsite and have a stiff feel to it. Most power hitters like the stiff feel to their bats. The Marucci Black is going to have more a balanced feel to it, but also has tremendous amount of pop. Both bats are great and high performing, but the Combat B3 only comes in a -8, as to where the Marucci comes in a -5.

Will the 2011 B3SL -8 be legal in junior leagues? It doesn't have the BBCOR label
Asked by Woody on Jan 12, 2012
The only bats that are BBCOR approved are the -3 models, this bat is not BBCOR approved so it is not little league Junior division approved

What's the difference between the 52 cal and the b3
Asked by Jake on Jan 11, 2012
The B3 has a different composite construction which allows it to maintain a high level of performance for a longer period of time. Combat claims that the materials used in the B3 are also a little higher quality than the 52.

Does this bat meet the BBCOR requirements.
Asked by MANNMULF on Dec 17, 2011
This bat is not a BBCOR bat. All BBCOR bats are going to be -3 adult bats. These are all the BBCOR bats that we carry; http://www.justbats.com/products/approved%20for~bbcor/

Is there any talk of a combat B4 senior league and when would it be coming out?
Asked by SPEEDYBOY on Dec 01, 2011
As of right now, we haven't heard any new news on a B4 senior league being released.

Does this bat meet the 2012 BBCOR requirements that Little League International and USSSA have adopted?
Asked by Ron on Nov 26, 2011
This bat does meet the certifications required for the 2012 season, adn features the USSSA certification stamp on the bats transition zone.
Derek Expert · Nov 27, 2011
The info we were given is that in 14&u youth big barrel they can either use a bat that is USSSA certified, which allows you to go lighter. BUT if they are bigger and stronger, and can use a -3, then it must be BBCOR certified. So depending on the size, age and strength of your batter, he could use this bat, yes.

i am 5"3 114 pounds and strong i am thinking of either getting the omen,b3 or cf5 which of those 3 would be best for me
Asked by bat freak on Nov 24, 2011
B3 would be an incredible bat for you! HUGE sweetspot, incredible pop, nice balance.
Linda Expert · Nov 25, 2011
Would this be a good bat for my 8 year old son
Asked by Cmoney101 on Nov 21, 2011
Unless he is used to a -8 weight, this bat might be a bit heavy for an 8yr old. Generally, unless your batter is a pretty strong guy, kids his age use a -10. We have this bat in a -10, the model # is B3SL1, made same way, all the same, except the weight is lighter.
Linda Expert · Nov 21, 2011
will this be legal for little league juniors ball?
Asked by Sleadd on Nov 06, 2011
Under their new rules it will not be. The B3 is a composite bat. If you want to use a composite barreled bat in Little League Juniors, it will have to be a -3 Adult bat.
Derek Expert · Nov 06, 2011
I have been looking at the cf5 and the -8 combat b3 and I'm 13, 5'6" power hitter. Which bat would you recommend?
Asked by BONES on Oct 23, 2011
Generally, one piece bats are preferred by power hitters. Combat has huge sweet spots, and tremendous pop.
lkh Expert · Oct 24, 2011
I had the same question as chilinalidatime. I just bought the CF5 for my son who is a power hitter. Just wondering if I should have got the B3 from what you noted on the bats. Can you please explain why you think the CF5 is for gap hitters and the B3 is for power hitters? Thank you.
Asked by Coach on Oct 19, 2011
The CF5 is a two-piece bat that will flex more during the hitter's swing. This flex causes the bat head to whip forward during contact creating more bat head speed. This is beneficial for gap or contact hitters who don't have as much natural power looking to add a little more distance to their hits. A one-piece bat like the B3 is stiffer and won't flex as much. A strong, power hitter with high swing speed often benefits from a stiff one-piece bat. Too much flex can be a bad thing. If a strong hitter with high swing speed were to swing a two-piece bat with a lot of flex, it could "over-flex" and cause the bat head to whip around too late. This could lead to a loss of bat control and ball placement.
TJ Expert · Oct 19, 2011
I'm thinking about getting this bat or the CF5. Please don't tell me you can't go wrong with either one because I want to know which one is truly the better bat. Thanks
Asked by cHiLiNaLlDaTiMe on Sep 21, 2011
Truly...there is not one bat on the market that is head and shoulders above the rest. I've heard lots of feedback on both the CF5 and B3. The CF5 is a two-piece bat that is beneficial for contact or gap hitters looking to add a bit more pop. The B3 is a stiffer, one-piece bat that is often preferred by power hitters. Both are top of the line bats and it depends on what type of hitter you are and your personal preference. If you posted this question in a large forum setting, I bet you would get a lot of feedback saying that the CF5 is better. I also bet you would get a lot of feedback saying the B3 is better. I've heard customers say that the CF5 is the best bat they've hit with, I've also heard other customers that say the B3 is the best bat they've hit with.
TJ Expert · Sep 22, 2011
are they going to make this bat in a drop 10?
Asked by hitman on Sep 15, 2011
The B3SL1 has been available in a drop 10 for quite some time now. It will be a different color scheme, but structurally it is the same (just a drop 10). It is on our website under the title "2012 COMbat B3: B3SL1 -10 Senior League".
