New for 2012! The DXCFX features the USSSA 1.15 stamp and is legal for use in 2012! For the past several years, the CF4 has dominated discussions about the hottest bats on the market. This year, DeMarini raises the stakes by introducing a completely revamped successor, aptly named the CF5. The CF5 is built on the principle of geometric perfection. DeMarini has unveiled a new composite material, called TR3 Strut Composite, that imitates the structure of crystals which are one of the strongest and most stable compounds on Earth. The triangle formation inside the barrel provides a fixed ratio of sides and angles so it's strong, stable and predictable - without any unnecessary weight! The molecular structure of the TR3 Strut handle is designed to efficiently transition power from the hands to the barrel to give players balance and consistency with every swing. This two-piece design is engineered durable with a very high strength to weight ratio, and light enough to be worthy of Doublewall duty. A bat like this can't be plugged with any average end cap, so DeMarini engineered the new Geo Endcap to meet its needs. The Geo Endcap is full of load-balancing triangles and is designed to maintain the stiffness of the barrel while dampening vibration to give hitters an amazing feel, shot after shot! The CF5 also features Half and Half Technology that redistributes weight to give the bat optimal balance. This gives younger players the ability to swing faster with less effort; ultimately resulting in more power! DeMarini: Insane Dedication to Performance! The CF5 is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Cons: nothing!
Pros: Just got CF5. Hit homerun in each game at tournament in delaware. One teamate used the bat and hit 2 also. great pop out of the box. Can't wait to see after bat is broken in!
Cons: None.
Pros: Great bat! 31 21 feels like 20! Lots of pop! Bounces off the bat great I love it!!!
Cons: none really
Pros: Awesome bat. Has serious pop, is well-balanced, and doesn't dent. Bought a 29/19 for my 10-year-old and he loves it.
Cons: It's expensive!
Pros: Great balance and you can generate good bat speed with the -10. Upgrade from CF4 and hitting the ball further with the CF5.
Cons: It may seem like it rattles, but it is the built in shock.
Pros: I am really hitting the ball far with this bat. I love this bat!! I am 9 years old and the bat feels light that even I can handle it.
Cons: None yet. only used for 2 weeks now.
Pros: holy maceral.. my son has been using a speed big barrel 31/21 -10 and he has just not been hiting very much. I decided to go out and buy him this bat and he was hitting!!! i recomend this bat for sure!!!!
Cons:
Pros: Bat is amazing. The pop off the bat is extraordinary. The whole team wanted to use the bat. I have been using it for 6 months now, and still no deterioration. Hasnt lost pop. its actually gained pop. The bat is composite, but it sounds like aluminum. wierd. Overall great bat. would recommend over any senior league bat on the market.
Cons: grip is short and knob rubs on hand
Pros: My eleven year old played his first major league tournament and smacked the first pitch he saw to left center for a triple. Next game he homered to right center. Great way to join a new team.
Cons: Bat cracked in second game. Amazon overnighted a new one.
Pros: This bat is to good to be true. I have used the cf4, and the cf5 blast of the chart as the best bat. It sounds different than other composite bats, almost alumonum. Lighter than any other 30 20 big barrel
Cons: none
Pros: I cannot believe the hype in this bat?? I bought for my 10 yr old son(travel ball) and it hit dead. Stayed with it for a month hopeing that it just needed to break in like most composites.Every bat in my bag out performs it. I should have found a stick and saved my $300!!
Cons: Piece of junk
Pros: This is a great bat! My son loves the balanced feel and has a faster swing speed with this bat (29/19) vs his lighter little league bats! The bat feels very solid and he has no complaints of excessive vibration/hands stinging. The ball seems to jump off this bat! We also have a CF4 2 1/4 (29/18) and this CF5 hits the ball much faster and farther....very pleased!
Cons: None
Pros: First season using this beat and i hit a high six homers in 3 tournaments, this season same results. truly amazing bat.
Cons: would probably recommend buying a heaver model because it says like 23 oz. but if feels like 20.
Pros: Good weight/balance and grip/handle
Cons: ball doesn't pop as much off the bat as the Easton S1 (larger sweet spot) or the Louisville TPX Omaha
Pros: Best bat ever! In 5 games I hit 15 HOME RUNS!!!!!!!!! Wow! Biggest pop ever
Cons: none at all. i don't even know why they have cons for this bats.
Pros: Why do they even have this box for the cf5?
Cons: too heavy no pop overrated
Pros: It hits great. I swung with it and feels great. My friends get really jealous when I use it. Feels really light compared to my friends big barrels.
Cons: There are noon because its the best bat
Pros: good bat if you are in little league this bat is illeagle do not buy it!!!!!!!!
Cons:
Pros: first time in batting pracice. Started off slow but really is ripping. I let my 8 year old brother use it and he put 1 over the fence. I have also been taking the pitchers head off. Over all, great bat
Cons: if there were any, I wouldn't review
Pros: Awesome bat! Well worth the money! My son hit 2 over the fence the first week he got it!
Cons: None.
Pros: this bat has a decent amount of pop.
Cons: When hitting the bat on the barrel it feels like you are hitting it on the inside handle. I have been a huge CF4 fan but the BBCOR CF5 is not nearly as good. A suggestion would be to get the Maruuci Black or RIP-IT both good selections
Pros: great bat amazing pop.when you hit the ball of the cap it doesnt vibrate like other bats.the weight is evenly spread out its not top havy.
Cons: nothing great bat
Pros: Pop
Cons: Colors
Pros: I was not very pleased. i was trying out bats and i picked out a couple of bats like tpx exo , easton s2,rawlings bats, and they had so much more pop!!! out of all the bats i loved the s2 it had not a lot of flex, but a little and the grip is amazing!
Cons: nothing great
Pros: This bat is so worth the money. i couldnt believe in how leveled out the weight was in the bat and how much pop it had. the first day my son had got it, he was having a small game and he bombed one out of the biggest little league field in south jersey then, his first game for aau/ travel b he bombed one out which went atleast 25ft over the fence.
Cons: there is nothing wrong with this bat it is amazing
Pros: Tons of pop wright out of wrapper.I reggularly play on a 210 foot fence almost hit 1 over 300.
Cons: expensive but worth it
Pros: this has great pop off the bat.not evan broken and still goes far a fast.if you want a bat hits line drives and home runs use this!!!!!
Cons: none
Pros: Nice a good bat my kids love the bat
Cons: no cons
Pros: looks good and has a nice name.
Cons: broke in third game, had no pop and the shock that it had was terrible.
Pros: Just got this bat last week before a tourney in AZ, and my 12 year old hit a homerun at Big League Dreams over 340ft. and bounced out of the stadium, thats right 12 yrs old! What a bat! mucho pop!
Cons: none that I can see.
Pros: Great pop. Nice sweet spot. 5 out of 5
Cons: none

Cons: why would i put any cons for a bat like this
Pros: good
Cons: nothing
Pros: Good pop off the bat. Hit ball a long way. Very happy.
Cons:
Pros: The best bat out right now hit with it nice pop
Cons: The price but it's worth it
Pros: to begin with, this bat has a tough match to beat. the cf4st was one of the top bats of all time. that bat raised expectations for the upcoming cf5. the cf5 is not the same as the cf4st, but compares fairly. it has good pop when his on the sweet spot, and a comfortable grip. the cf5 is a great new choice for the new rules in bats, and would be a wise choice for someone abiding by the rules.
Cons: doesnt have nearly as much pop when hit off the center of the barrel.
Pros: awesome pop
Cons: there is none unless in an indoor facility then it can get pretty loud
Pros: i just got the bat today i like it has a good pop
Cons:
Pros: My daughter just got this bat and hit a triple for the first time ever! She said it was incredible and had great pop. Having the bat increased her confidence and that made her an even better player!!
Cons:
Pros: Has a lot of pop and sounds great too. Balance is good and feels lighter then oz on bat.
Cons: Handle does not taper at end of bat like the DXCFR version. Really like that feature but not on this bat?
Pros: feels like nothing wen u hit w/it. always hit well. no sting. most pop i've ever seen. wayyyyy mor pop then cf4
Cons: none at all
Pros: I am in love with this bat. i hit with it at practice and it was really lightweight. this is my favorite bat now. when i get the sweet spot its at 325 each hit.
Cons:
Pros: Dubbled his hitting
Cons:
Pros: this bat is very good. it has A LOT of pop. if you hit it the wrong spot it wont sting. i got the 29/19 all the weight is in the middle not heavy.
Cons: paint scratches easy
Pros: really good
Cons: not any

Ask QuestionMy son is currently swinging an older -10 Vexxum but it seems to be losing its pop (after 1.5 years). He is a contact hitter with a decent amount of power. His one complaint with the Vexxum is it feels a little more end loaded to him. In looking to replace it, we looked into the CF5. With that is this bat similar in feel to the Vexxum or a little more balanced than the Vexxum?
Asked by Tom on May 14, 2012
The 2012 DeMarini CF5 will be more balanced than the Demarini Vexxum.
Kara Expert · May 14, 2012
Would you be able to use it in 13u Babe Ruth league, and does it have good pop?
Asked by Jackson on Apr 28, 2012
Under Babe Ruth's current rules for their age division that allows youth big barrel bats, this one is not legal because it has a composite hitting surface. You can use any bat with an alloy barrel. If you want to use a bat with a composite barrel, it must be an BBCOR certified Adult -3 baseball bat. The bat does have a good amount of pop and a balanced feel

Are all senior league bats legal in Babe Ruth 13-15 league?
Asked by brandon on Apr 20, 2012
Only Senior League bats with an alloy barrel are allowed in Babe Ruth 13-15. Composite barrel bats like the 2012 DeMarini CF5 must be BBCOR certified in Babe Ruth 13-15 division.
Kara Expert · Apr 20, 2012
I'm looking for a new big barrel. I like the Easton S1 and I hit pretty decent with it. I'm 12years old 5 foot 3 and 105 pounds. I'm a contact hitter but would like to hit for power. Which bat is better for me: Demarini CF5(-10), Easton S1(-10), Anderson Ignite(-10), Easton S2(-10), or Easton XL1(-10)?
Asked by jeremy on Apr 18, 2012
If you are a contact hitter looking for increased power, the S1 will probably be your top choice. It is a two piece bat with a light swing weight with very good pop. All of those bats are great though!

Does the new 1.15 stamp bat still have very good pop?
Asked by double duece on Apr 02, 2012
The DXCFX with the new BPF 1.15 stamp still has excellent pop.
Kara Expert · Apr 02, 2012
Does this bat need to be broken in? I just bought this bat for my 10 yr old son and it does not seem to have the pop his 2009 Voodoo had. This new bat was a little pricey so I'm hoping it will get better the more he uses it. Can you please let me know? Thank you.
Asked by Dean on Mar 25, 2012
The CF5 is a full composite design that does require a break in period of about 200-300 hits off of it. during the break in you would need to rotate the bat about a quarter of a turn to make sure and take hits off every side of the bat. Here is the link to view more details about this bat. http://www.justbats.com/product/2012-demarini-cf5--dxcfx-senior-league/13538/

Asked by bigmam on Mar 25, 2012
Yes, the Demarini CF5 is Little League approved
Sean Expert · Mar 25, 2012
My coaches said you cant use this in junior legion because it has a composite handle.
Asked by doc man on Mar 22, 2012
This bat would not be legal in a Junior League. Not due to the composite handle, but because it has a composite barrel. All composite barreled bats used in Junior or Senior Little League, must be BBCOR certified. Senior league bats will not have that certification; only adult -3 bats will.

Is this bat legal for 13 year old Babe Ruth?
Asked by edwardo on Mar 15, 2012
Based on the information I have, this bat would not be legal for use in a 13 year old Babe Ruth league. This bat is a two piece composite and has a composite barrel. The rules for the 13-15 Babe Ruth division state, "Only composite barrel bats certified and marked BBCOR .50 will be allowed." This bat is not BBCOR certified, as only adult -3 bats will have that certification.

How do I break in this bat?
Asked by Steve on Mar 08, 2012
We suggest taking about 150-200 hits either off of a tee or soft toss, starting out at about 40% power and increasing the closer you get to the 200 hit mark. Also, make sure you are using the same balls you would use in a game and are rotating the bat about a 1/4 of an inch in between each hit to ensure an even break in around the entire barrel of the bat.

What is the break in period for CF5 and how do you break in?
Asked by Lyle on Feb 29, 2012
A good break in consists of taking about 150-200 hits of a batting tee. Start off at about 40% power and gradually increase. Also, be sure to rotate the bat a quarter of an inch in your hands between each hit. After that, you should be ready to face live pitching.

Do the 2 5/8 big barrel bats have more pop than the same 2 1/4 bats, and if not, whats the advantages of a big barrel?
Asked by John on Feb 20, 2012
They don't necessarily provide more pop, they just have a larger hitting surface. Less room or error you could say.
Tyler Expert · Feb 20, 2012
Can you compare the cf5 to the s2 please?
Asked by stud muffin on Feb 18, 2012
The CF5 is a awesome full composite bat that will require a break in period. The S2 is also a good pick, it differs a little with its hybrid construction.

Can I hit this bat in cold weather? Thank you
Asked by Ball Game on Feb 15, 2012
Yes, you can hit any bat in cold weather, the cold weather just makes the ball harder which can dent or crack the bats easier. It is recommended to use this bat in temperatures higher than 50 degrees.
Kris Expert · Feb 15, 2012
Can this bat be used in Babe Ruth baseball?
Asked by Sweetness on Feb 09, 2012
It depends on what division your son plays in. You can visit their website for clarification: http://www.baberuthleague.org/side-indexes/latest-rule-changes.html
Kara Expert · Feb 10, 2012
How is the bat in the cold? I live in Colorado and start Tourney play in Feb-March. Will it hold up to weather in the 30's & 40's? Or should I go with the Voodoo? What do you recommend Composite or Alloy?
Asked by JMVP on Feb 08, 2012
It is not recommended to use any bat in temperatures below 50-55 degrees. The lower temperatures effect the balls, and not necessarily the bat and there is a higher number of damaged bats reported in these temperatures. This doesn't mean you absolutely shouldn't use it in these temperatures, it is just recommended to try to limit your bats use.
Jennifer Expert · Feb 09, 2012
What is the break in timefor this bat.
Asked by jamie on Feb 07, 2012
We recommend you take approximately 100-200 swings off soft toss or a tee. Rotate the barrel about a 1/4 inch each swing. We advise you do not use the bat in a cage that uses yellow dimpled balls.
Kara Expert · Feb 07, 2012

Having a difficult time deciding between the cf5 and Vexxum. Which bat, in your opinion, has more "pop" and what size would you recommend for my son, he is 9 y/o, 53" and 60 lbs? Thanks
Asked by Shell on Feb 01, 2012
These are very good options. The CF5 has a composite barrel and will have a more end loaded feel to it due to the barrel. The Vexxum will have a more balanced feel due to the alloy barrel.

Hi -- My kid has been using a smaller barrel bat CF4 for the last two years (29" 18) as our association did not allow larger barrels. we now can use large barrels and need BBcor and USSA stamp on the bat. He is now 12 years old -- would a 30"20 oz bat be good for him now in your opinion?
Asked by kfishedina on Jan 09, 2012
The only bats that will be BBCOR certified are the adult -3 bats, which would put him at like a 32 inch 28 ounces. The way the rule reads is the bat must be bbcor OR USSSA 1.15 bpf. Going with the USSSA would allow him to use the -10 30-20. The size he would need is dependent on his height and weight.
Linda Expert · Jan 09, 2012
what is the differences between the -8 and the -10? Is it only the obvious 2 ounces? Is the balance the same?
Asked by Tim on Dec 29, 2011
Yes that is correct. The 2 ounces will be the difference. The balance of these bats will be similar to each other.
KG Expert · Dec 29, 2011
would you perfer cf5 or combat b3?
Asked by snake on Dec 28, 2011
Depends on what type of hitter the player is. A stronger hitter may prefer the B3 since it is a stiffer, one-piece bat. A contact or gap hitter may prefer the CF5 as it is a two-piece bat that offers more flex.

I bought this bat for my son a couple of months ago. He loves the bat. It is approved for USSSA in 2012 according to your site and it does have the stamp on it. The stamp on his bat smeared to point where it is difficult to read. He is starting a USSSA league this January. I was wondering how we could get a new legible stamp if we run into problems with him being allowed to use the bat.
Asked by Johnnymy on Dec 22, 2011
It should be etched into the bat enough that the umpires will know it is a legit stamp. If you do have doubts, due to the rules,we here, are unable to add stamps, it would have to come from the manufacturer.
Linda Expert · Dec 22, 2011

Asked by Kat on Dec 15, 2011
Both bats are going to be very good options. The CF5 has very good pop and will have a huge sweet spot. The S2 will have a lighter feel and has an alloy barrel with good pop.

This is a very good bat and will have great pop. Check out the DXCFR as that will be the bat you're looking for. This bat is a -10 and will be lighter.
KG Expert · Dec 12, 2011
The Demarini bats we've used in the past have always been heavier than the stated weight. Can you tell me if the CF4 and CF5 are true to weight, or are they 1-2 ounces heavier than marked?
Asked by Craig on Dec 07, 2011
A little background... all bats are weighed prior to the final stages of production. This means a manufacturer will obtain a weight of a bat prior to the addition of the grip, decals, final coat of paint, and sometimes the end-cap and knob. However, to my knowledge, the DXCFX is true to weight and shouldn't be too much over the advertised weight.

Both are great, but I would lean towards the CF5. The CF5 is DeMarini's top of the line bat. I would give it a leg up in terms of performance.

Asked by IXFEDAD on Nov 30, 2011
If he is a strong 11 yr old, then I would go with the -8. General rule of thumb is you want them to swing the heaviest bat possible when they start getting around 11-12yrs old, to prepare for the required -3 when they get to high school.

Is this bat better than the b3? I am a power hitter and for me it does not matter about the weight. Which has more 'pop'?
Asked by Dodgerblue on Nov 19, 2011
They are both great bats and will have similar amounts of pop. It really just goes down to personal preference

My son is 11 y.o., 5'3" but only weighs about 78 lbs or so. Last year he swung a 30/20 big barel RZR, which size would you recommend in the CF5?
Asked by Amy J on Nov 19, 2011
For the CF5 I would look at either a 30" 20oz or a 31" 21oz.
Sean Expert · Nov 19, 2011

Both of these bats are the top tier bats and are going to perform similar to each other. It really will come down to personal preference.

Is the cf5 legal in senior league where I play in texas they are 13-14 yrs old
Asked by freddy31 on Oct 27, 2011
Each league is different, I would suggest you contact your local league official for clarification. It does have the USSSA stamp if your league requires the stamp.

Which bat is better and has more pop? the voodo or the omen or the cf5
Asked by Andy on Oct 24, 2011
Tough call, each one offers something different. The CF5 is a 2 piece all composite bat that has great pop. The Omen also, is a 2 piece composite, but has the low MOI for a lighter swing. Voodoo is a 2 piece with the composite handle and alloy barrel, that also has awesome pop. Really comes down to preference.

When will this bat go on sale
Asked by ?????? on Oct 15, 2011
This is a 2012 model so it most likely not go on sale for awhile. The price is set by the manufacture and can't be reduced without their approval.

We play in ks and the weather in march and april can get very cold. Would this bat be able to hold up against the extreme weather. Thanks ks
Asked by Tater on Oct 15, 2011
I would not recommend this bat be used under 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Anything colder then this I would use an aluminum bat.
Todd Expert · Oct 17, 2011
I just read all bats used in USSSA must have the "new" USSSA stamp on it for next year and the old stamp will not be accepted. Will this bat have the "new" stamp and what other bats will have this.
Asked by steve on Oct 10, 2011
Most all of the 2012 bats have the 1.15 BPF stamp for USSSA on them. The CF5 definitely does have it.

You are telling people incorrect information! Pony allows all senior league bats that have a barrel size no bigger than 2 5/8" and that is there only restriction at this time.
Asked by Bsblljnky5 on Sep 26, 2011
I stand corrected, I looked on the Pony website and you are correct. I thought they adhered to the Little League rules, which do only allow the small barrel. Thank you for bringing that to my attention.
lkh Expert · Sep 26, 2011
Does Demarini make a bat that is approved for pony league that is 2 1/4 barrel? I had the cf4 for little league and loved it!!!! And if so which one is the best!
Asked by Jake on Sep 23, 2011
Yes, there is a 2 1/4 barrel version of the CF5, the model number is the DXCFL.

Is this bat approved to be used for Pony(age 13/14)and what size for a 5'4"/110?
Asked by Jake on Sep 22, 2011
The CF5 is not approved for Pony leagues, which requires a 2 1/4 inch barrel. An appropriate lenth for a youth player of that height and weight is anywhere from 30-32 inches.

Hi what bat should i get i am 12 i am 5 ft and i play usssa so i need a stamp,i am a lefty but i dont now if that matters?
Asked by sluugggerr on Sep 18, 2011
That's a good questions that ultimately comes down to your personal preference. A few of the top Big Barrel bats out there with the USSSA stamp are the DeMarini CF5, Easton Omen, DeMarini Voodoo, Worth Lithium Edge Prodigy, Louisville Exogrid, Easton Rival, and Marucci Cat 5.
John Expert · Sep 19, 2011
im stuck is a cf5 worth all the more $ than like a surge or marucci?
Asked by pop on Sep 18, 2011
CF5 is a 2 piece all composite bat, slight end weight. Surge is a 2 Piece composite handle and alloy barrel, balanced bat. Cat 5 is a 1 piece all aluminum, very nice balance. Each one offers something different. So it will depend on your preference.

My son is small for his age. Currently using a DeMarini Voodo 28/17. Would the Vexxum in a 28/18 be better for him or the CF 5 in 29/19?
Asked by Jman on Sep 17, 2011
That's difficult to answer without being able to see him swing. If he has good swing speed and bat control with the 28/17, then I would recommend moving him up at least to an 18 ounce bat. I would recommend having him swing an 18 and 19 ounce bat first. If he still has good bat speed and control with a 19 ounce, then it wouldn't hurt to go that route.
TJ Expert · Sep 20, 2011
Hi, how does the cf5 compare with the voodoo
Asked by Lucky luke on Sep 10, 2011
The cf5 is Demarini's full composite 2 piece bat. The Voodoo is their two piece hybrid bat. It has a composite handel and a high performing sc4 alloy barrel.

is it legal for dixie youth ozone level baseball for 2012. my son is 11 years old. thank you for your respone.
Asked by sam on Sep 09, 2011
This bat does have the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp on the barrel of the bat. In most leagues this bat would then be legal. I would recommend getting a hold of the coach or the head of the league to find out what the rules of the league are.

Want your true opinion....DF5 or Omen....which is better?
Asked by OCAngel on Sep 09, 2011
These both are going to be 2 of the best bats on the market. The Omen is going to have a little more pop. The CF5 is going to have more durability. You cant go wrong with either bat.
Todd Expert · Sep 09, 2011
Does DeMarini make this bat in a 28/18?
Asked by OCAngel on Sep 09, 2011
This bat is not made in a 28/18. The sizes that we show on our website are the only sizes that this bat comes in. 29/19, 30/20, 31/21, and 32/22 are the sizes that we have in this bat.

Is this bat approved for usssa play in 2012?
Asked by Joe on Jul 26, 2011
Yes, this bat is going to be approved for play next year. This bat has the 1.15 BPF and USSSA stamp on the barrel of the bat. This is what they are going to be looking for next year and this bat has the stamp on the barrel of the bat.
Brett Expert · Jul 26, 2011
My son used the CF4 -11 for little league and is now transitioning to Babe ruth with a big barrel. What should he be looking for in weight? He used a 19oz 2 1/4 bat.
Asked by Bruce on Jul 25, 2011
I would recommend moving up an ounce in weight. Definitely don't go down in weight. A general rule of thumb is you want to move up an ounce in weight every season.
