Ever since its arrival on the scene two years ago, the DeMarini Distance has been one of the bigger surprises in the baseball world. Garnering great reviews and praise, the Distance is ready for an encore performance. The Distance is made from DX1 Alloy which delivers the perfect balance of high KSI strength and fracture toughness for long lasting performance. The Distance also features DeMarini's Shock Diffusion Handle (SDH) which uses an exclusive rubberized coating designed to decrease the shock felt at impact! The handle is wrapped with a Hybrid Performance Grip with provides the optimal amount of comfort and tack that top hitters demand. As with all DeMarini bats, the Distance is marked with a Rotation Index to remind players to rotate their bat every time up. This creates an even break-in and greatly extends the life of the bat. DeMarini: Insane Dedication to Performance! The Distance is approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC, and USSSA. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros:

Cons: Large dent on the first at-bat of the first game it was used in, large enough that the bat could not be used again. I'm returning that bat to DeMarini and here looking for a bat that will last more than 1 game.

2012 DeMarini Distance: DXDSL Youth

by MikeN - Mar 21, 2012

Pros: Good bat for the price. Son is moving up from a 28” Reflex (nice and light) to at 29” Distance. Size and weight differences aside, I think the Demarini provides better pop. He does not complain about sting with the shock system. Eventually plan to get a more expensive composite bat and use the Distance for batting cage use.

Cons: Grip can leave a sticky feel without gloves on.

Pros:

Cons: Dents much too easily. My 10yr old, 80lb son dented 2 of of these bats off pitches in the batting cage rendering them illegal.

Is this a balanced or end loaded bat? Thanks!

The weight in the 2012 DeMarini Distance is pretty evenly distributed. This will give the bat a pretty balanced feel.

24004

How come this says USSSA approved but I don't see the stamp? Do I need a certificate to prove to umps this is approved or will they know without the stamp?

Small barrel bats don't have to have the USSSA thumbprint stamp until 2014. Only the USSSA BPF 1.15 mark on the barrel of the bat is required for play in 2012. The 2012 DeMarini Distance is legal in 2012.

11969

what's the difference between last year and this year's model?

There really isn't going to be much of a difference between the 2011 and 2012 Distance. DeMarini did work to improve the durability of the bat while maintaing the same performance.

Is this BB Cor??

This bat has the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp, it it not BBCOR. No 2 1/4" barrel will ever be a BBCOR as they are youth bats. BBCOR is only adult size bats.
