by BigPop - May 31, 2011

Pros: Awesome Bat, great pop... the ball flies off this thing. My son is 13 and has driven a couple over 350ft.

Cons: took a little to get used to the extra weight, but great intermediate bat in prep for HS.

Review Summary

2012 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVD5 Senior League
4.818182 based on 11 ratings. 11 user reviews.

New for 2012! Back with an impressive new design and mind-blowing new graphics, the DeMarini Voodoo is sure to exceed your wildest expectations! The Voodoo's supremacy begins at the handle where DeMarini introduces a new composite material this season called TR3 Strut Composite. With TR3, DeMarini seeks to replicate the triangular structure of a crystal, as that is what helps make crystals one of the toughest and most stable compounds on earth. TR3 Composite is strong, stable, and predictable - without any unnecessary weight. This handle is designed to efficiently transfer power from your hands to the barrel giving players balance and consistency with every swing. The barrel of the Voodoo is constructed with DeMarini's SC4 Alloy. This alloy provides a thickness tuned wall that extends the entire length of the barrel contributing to a wickedly hot and insanely durable sweetspot! The Voodoo also features Half and Half Technology that redistributes weight to give the bat optimal balance. This is extremely beneficial to players that are still developing the perfect swing, as it gives them the ability to swing faster with less effort; ultimately resulting in more power! DeMarini: Insane Dedication to Performance! The Voodoo is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

2012 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVD5 Senior League

by DeMarini FTW - Nov 06, 2011

Pros: DeMarini did it again. Amazing design with the skull, and the two piece design is awesome. I've been swinging this bat for about 8 or 9 months now, and it still has lots of pop! People complain about the sweet spot being small, but trust me, IT'S NOT!!! The barrel size is superb. I enjoy swinging this bat, nothing wrong with it.

Cons: Paint chips... BUT WHO CARES!?! All bats do, and I've had it for 9 months!

Pros: I borrowed this bat for bp and couldn't believe how much pop it has! Anything that hit the middle of the barrel came off like a bullet. Large sweet-spot. Well-balanced. Unreal pop! Good sound off the bat

Cons: None!

2012 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVD5 Senior League

by RealBatReviews - Aug 07, 2011

Pros: The design on the new demarini voodoo obviously catches your eye, but thats not the only pro when it comes to this bat. it has great pop, the classic demarini bat grip, and regaurdless of the new alloy technollogy which is not USUALLY as strong as composite, this bat may strike you as an exception.

Cons: barrel length could be a bit longer. but if youre into all the power in a more compact part of the bat, this is for you.

20162

is the voodoo drop 5 bbcor?

Unfortunately, only drop 3 adult bats are eligible to be BBCOR certified. The drop 5 Voodoo is not BBCOR approved

17342

Will this bat be approved for junior league little league for the next few years? Do you need the USSSA stamp in juniors little league? Does this bat have the USSSA stamp?

This has an alloy barrel and under Little League's new rules, is legal for use this year and at least next year.

16847

Does the -5 voodoo swing lighter or heavier than the vexxum? I've heard the barrels are the same, but that the handles are a different material (and weight). I assume that this would create a different balance point.

Based on customer feedback, the Vexxum will feel and swing just a little lighter than the Voodoo.

16770

Is it allowed in 14U Sandy Koufax?

This bat is USSSA certified and will more than likely be legal for play in your league. All leagues are different though so you may want to check with the coach or league manager for verification.

16605

Son had 2 cf4's in past that were composite. Voodoo is listed as half and half. What is the difference? cf4 had great results

The CF4 is all composite. The Voodoo has an alloy barrel with a composite handle. The CF4 is the more balanced in terms of weight distribution and the majority of users say it is slightly better performing than the Voodoo.

16445

Does this bat meet the new 2012 BBCOR standards/rules for a 13 year old AAU travel team?

The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo Senior League would not meet BBCOR standards because it is not a BBCOR bat. Here is a BBCOR version of the Voodoo http://www.justbats.com/product/2012-demarini-voodoo-bbcor--dxvdc-adult/13531/

16301

Does this bat here have a usssa 1.15 stamp on it?

The DXVD5 absolutely does have the BPF 1.15 stamp. For more certified bats you call our contact center at 1-866-321-2287.

15586

Hi. The bat pictured looks to be a Louisville Slugger WOOD bat. Are the 2012 DM VooDoo's still available?

This bat is in fact a DeMarini Voodoo, that is going to be a two piece design with a composite handle and alloy barrel. The following link will you give all the DeMarini Voodoo bats we have available as of right now: http://www.justbats.com/products/?s=voodoo

15458

Is this bat approved for Junior level of Little League?

Yes, the DXVD5 is approved for the Junior Level of Little League.

15142

Do we know for certain that this bat is Little League Approved for Juniors in 2012?

This bat does have the USSSA stamp that is required, making this certified for play in 2012.

14902

From this site, it appears the 33 inch drop 5 does not have the USSSA stamp. Is that true? If so, what bat do you reccomend in a 33/28 that has the USSSA stamp?

We now do have the 33-34" with the stamp. If you would like to double check this please feel free to contact us.

14186

so if my bat has the usssa 1.15 stamp on it i can play travel ball???

Yes, that is correct

12562

I bought a 32/27 2012 demarini voodoo dxvd5 bat earlier in the year and it doesnt have the USSSA stamp on it even though it is clearly the same bat as those now coming with the USSSA stamp on them. Is there a way I can get the bat approved for USSSA play (my son is 13 and will be playing both 13u and 14u ) or is this bat basically useless now in so far as USSSA events are concerned?

If the bat is still under warranty you can return it back to Demarini and they can get you one with a stamp on it

11845

I was looking at purchasing the voodoo in a -5, 32" is this usssa approved .

Yes. The 32" has the stamp.

11835

Is the voodoo -5 big barrell in the 32" usssa approved

Yes, it is, only the 33-34 were not, last info given to us.

11727

Your web site says the 33 and 34 inch model do not have the USSSA 1.15 stamp why is that? I need 33 inch drop 5 with the stamp, whats the story, Thanks

As of 12/21/2011 we do not have those with the stamp. We are hoping to get those with the stamp soon.

11724

I need to know if this bat is a youth size...? I'm planning to purchase this bat for my 8 year old... Thanks!

This will not be a youth bat and will be too big for an 8 year old. Check out the DXVDL Voodoo as that will be the youth.

10990

Is this bat USSSA stamped and approved

This bat is not USSSSA stamped or approved

9575

Is it usssa approved in a -5 senior league bat?

No, this bat does not have the stamp as of 11/21/2011.

9445

According to DeMarini's site, this bat is NOT USSSA certified. I am confused, I don't want to buy a 'dead' bat until I need to.

The -5 is not USSSA certified. The -9 does have the USSSA stamp.

9307

Does this bat come with the USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp that is in clear view?

Since I couldn't see it in the pictures, I went out and looked at the bat myself. There is no USSSA marking on the bat.

9222

Have the new Demarini DXVD5 -5 bats with the required USSSA 1.15 BFP stickers been received and are they in stock? If so, are you going to also post a picture of the USSSA stamp?

At the moment we don't have any that have the USSSA 1.15 stamp on it. When we do, we will post pics of it.

8929

so if my son is 13 playing nations, usssa, or superseries, will this bat be leagal before i spend the 300+ dollars for the upcoming spring season. 2012

The way the new ruling we just received reads is...Effective Jan 1, 2012, 14U big barrel bats Must have the new USSSA stamp on it, OR it must be BBCOR certified (which is a -3 weight), or be a wood bat. Small youth barrel (2 1/4" barrel) rules are as such...The must have the USSSA stamp on it, or the old USSSA stamp or be a wood bat. The DXVD% does not have the USSSA stamp on it.

8871

Will there be a -5 with the 2012 USSSA stamp?

If you play 14U or 15U, if your bat has composite in it, it has to be a -3 BBCOR certified bat, or have the USSSA stamp (which this one does not have) or be a wood bat.

8588

What is the difference between the DXVDR and the DXVD5 other than $50.00?

The DXVD5 has a -5 length to weight ratio. The DXVDR has a -9 length to weight ratio.

7893

Does this 33/28 have the 2012 1.15BFP Stamp?

Yes, it does.

7709

Is this bat USSSA approved for youth play beginning in 2012?

This bat does not have the USSSA 1.15 stamp on the barrel of the bat. All bats that have the stamp will have the picture of the stamp and say in the bullet points that the bat is legal.

6951

What is a better bat in terms of balance and pop, the voodoo -5 or the Exo -5

Both bats will be very good options. They both will have solid barrels with very good POP. The Voodoo does NOT have the USSSA stamp if that makes a difference for you.

6816

I called DeMarini and they say the -5 bat after a small batch last summer that did not have the USSSA stamp on it now does. When will you get the new ones with the USSSA 1.15 stamp on them and the 31" model?

It looks like our next shipment of DXVD5 Voodoos will be here the first week of November. They all should have the new USSSA stamp at that time.

6721

when will you have these with the usssa stamp on it??

To our knowledge this will never have the USSSA stamp on it. Only the -9.

5086

im confused mark said this bat doesnt come with the 1.15 bpf certified and usssa stamp but brett says it does

As of 8/18/11, we do not carry the ones with the stamp on the barrel of the bat. We did earlier in the summer that is why there are 2 different answers on there. Once we get the ones that have the stamp, they will show a picture of it and it will say in the bullet points that we have them.

4773

Will I be able to use this bat in travel ball?

The -5 voodoo doesn't have the 1.15 usssa stamp, so if you are playing usssa tournaments you won't beable to use it. If you are playing under different rules you would have to check with you coach or league offical to find out.

3892

Does this bat meet USA baseball standards as a "aluminum/alloy barrel and composite handle -5 bat" My son might play in a 13u NTIS and I'm trying to figure out their rules. Thanks

Yes. This the barrel of this bat is 100% alloy and it meets the criteria you described. The handle, and the handle only is composite.

3437

Is this bat approved for usssa in 2012? Im not sure if it is 1.15 bpf certified.

Yes, this bat is approved for 2012. This bat comes with the 1.15 BPF stamp and USSSA stamp on the bat.

1751

Is this bat BBCOR approved?

This bat is not BBCOR certified. Only -3 bats have the chance to be BBCOR certified.
