New for 2012! The SL12EX2 features the USSSA 1.15 stamp and is legal for use in 2012! Since 1884, Louisville Slugger has been on the cutting edge of bat technology. This year the TPX line brings a new dimension in performance technology to the table. The EXOGRID2 is one of the most innovative bats to ever hit the market. This bat starts out with Louisville Slugger's SC21 Scandium Alloy which is one of the most durable and responsive alloys on the market. Moving toward the handle you'll find that the metal is trimmed into a grid-like pattern and replaced with carbon composite inserts. These inserts are several times stronger than the metal they replace which gives the EXOGRID2 not only it's name, but it's unwavering durability. Inside the bat, the heart of the EXOGRID2 can be found in the form of an internal carbon composite sleeve. This provides greater handle stiffness than alloy alone ever could. All of these parts are brought together using Louisville Slugger's EXOGRID Bi/Fusion Process, where a combination of heat and extreme pressure bond everything into a single, solid unit. The EXOGRID2 has a 2 5/8 inch barrel and 7/8 inch standard handle with a synthetic grip. It is topped off by Louisville Slugger's patented Pro Cup Endcap. Louisville Slugger: Intimidate at the Plate! The EXOGRID2 is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Cons: Other than the dirty grip, nothing to complain about.
Pros: MY SON LOVES THIS BAT!!!!! Best bat out there. The ball jumps off the bat even on miss hits. I wish they would make a golfclub that does what this bat can.
Cons: NADA!!!!

Ask QuestionCould I use this bat in the cage because it has an alloy barrel?
Asked by dylankeola on Apr 15, 2012
If you use real baseballs in the cage, then the SL12EX2 would be just fine to use. Just make sure you stay away from those yellow dimpled pitching machine balls and only use real baseballs.

will this bat be legal for play in juniors and usssa 2012 and 2013
Asked by tpx man on Apr 01, 2012
The TPX Exogrid2 SL12EX2 does feature the USSSA stamp making it legal for play in 2012. I can't forsee what will happen in 2013, but we try to keep our customers updated on any changes with the rules and regulations as soon as they are presented to us.

Asked by YMCMB on Feb 27, 2012

How does this bat compare to the S1 Easton from a performance perspective?
Asked by KA on Feb 20, 2012
The S1 has a lower MOI which means it has a lower swing weight. The S1 is also a two piece bat that will offer more flex through the zone. As far as performance, it depends on what type of hitter you are. The S1 is probably better suited for a player looking to improve their bat speed or someone who isn't quite as strong. The Exogrid2 would be better suited for a stronger hitter.
Tyler Expert · Feb 20, 2012
What does MOI stand for?
Asked by Ryan on Feb 19, 2012
MOI stands for Moment of Inertia.

Should i get the exogrid2 or the Omaha? What is the biggest size you can get? How big is the sweet spot on this bat?
Asked by batboy on Dec 26, 2011
The Exogrid2 is Louisville's top of the line bat that will perform better than any other bat in Louisville's line. So, if you want a top tier that performs great the Exogrid would be a good option. The Omaha is also a good bat known for being pretty durable. A 32" 23 oz. bat will be the biggest size the SL12EX2 is available in.
TJ Expert · Dec 27, 2011
How is this weighted compared to the Combat 3? I know it's early, but which one has more pop? How about the difference in barrel length? Thanks!
Asked by Indyball on Dec 25, 2011
I would say they are close, the Combat might be slightly more balanced.

What bats meet these bat ruls? 13U and 14U ? BIG BARREL (2 5/8†or 2 ¾â€) ? Bats that have the 1.15 BPF stamped on the bat. Stickers will not be enough proof that the bat meets the standard. ? Those bats that have a BBCOR mark permanently attached to the bat that is recognized by OHSAA as a legal bat. OHSAA rules require -3 Drop, but not all COYBL 13U and 14U players play School baseball so COYBL will allow -5 or -3 bats as long as -3 bats meet the BBCOR certification. The -5 Bats will need to be 1.15BPF rated.
Asked by Ray on Dec 20, 2011
Without knowing the specific league you play in, I don't know if this bat is leagal.
Kara Expert · Dec 20, 2011

What will be the biggest difference in between the EXOGRID2/SL12EX2 and the 2012 Easton S2 SL11S210? This will be for 9u travel ball in 2012. Good contact hitter but also has decent power. Strong but small for his age: 50", 62lbs.
Asked by Dack on Dec 02, 2011
If he is smaller, the S2 might be better balanced for him. The Exo is an excellent bat, just slightly end weighted.

CAN I GET -8
Asked by THK on Dec 01, 2011
The Exogrid2 is only available in -3, -5, -9 and -12.
John Expert · Dec 01, 2011
This is only available in a -9.
KG Expert · Dec 01, 2011
Does the 28" have a big enough sweetspot or should I just get the 29"? I worry that at 2-5/8" the 28" barrel may be too short. Thanks
Asked by Brad on Nov 06, 2011
Between the 28 and 29 inch models there won't be a big enough difference in the sweet spot to make it crucial to go with the 29 ove the 28 inch. Just go with whatever weight you think he'd be best suited with.
Derek Expert · Nov 06, 2011
Is there going to be an H2 big barrel approved for 2012?
Asked by rayray on Sep 19, 2011
When they first came out with the H2 there was a -9 version. I've not seen a 2012 model as of yet. Would be awesome, great bat.

Will this bat be legal for next year?
Asked by Riley on Jun 16, 2011
It depends on what league you play in. There are many different leagues out there and not all follow the same guidelines. If you play in USSSA, it does have the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp making it legal for play next year.
Brett Expert · Jun 16, 2011
is it ok to use next year. you know with banning rules.
Asked by beef on Jun 06, 2011
This bat will be legal to use in leagues that mandate the 1.15 BPF and USSSA stamps on the bat. This is an illegal bat in high school play and any league that only allows BBCOR bats.
