New for 2012! The SL12EX25 features the USSSA 1.15 stamp and is legal for use in 2012! Since 1884, Louisville Slugger has been on the cutting edge of bat technology. This year the TPX line brings a new dimension in performance technology to the table. The EXOGRID2 is one of the most innovative bats to ever hit the market. This bat starts out with Louisville Slugger's SC21 Scandium Alloy which is one of the most durable and responsive alloys on the market. Moving toward the handle you'll find that the metal is trimmed into a grid-like pattern and replaced with carbon composite inserts. These inserts are several times stronger than the metal they replace which gives the EXOGRID2 not only it's name, but it's unwavering durability. Inside the bat, the heart of the EXOGRID2 can be found in the form of an internal carbon composite sleeve. This provides greater handle stiffness than alloy alone ever could. All of these parts are brought together using Louisville Slugger's EXOGRID Bi/Fusion Process, where a combination of heat and extreme pressure bond everything into a single, solid unit. The EXOGRID2 has a 2 5/8 inch barrel and 7/8 inch standard handle with a synthetic grip. It is topped off by Louisville Slugger's patented Pro Cup Endcap. Louisville Slugger: Intimidate at the Plate! The EXOGRID2 is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: This bat has a pretty big sweetspot with great noise and pop. Right when I get this bat i moved up in the order from 8 to 4 and I batted 600 for the rest of the season. I love this bat Im positive it's the best thing on the market and I would recommend it to anyone

Pros: Amazing pop, huge barrel, comes through when you need it. GREAT BAT!
Cons: None
Pros: Lightweight, big sweetspot, balanced, ok pop.
Cons: Average pop, ball doesn't jump off the bat as good as my Demarini M2M. If you are a power hitter like me you are not going to like how light and balanced it swings. I would prefer a top-heavy bat with a big sweetspot.

Ask QuestionWould you recommend this or the Easton -5 XL1 for a 14U travel ball player?
Asked by Brandon on Apr 27, 2012
It will really depend on the type of hitter you are. The 2012 Louisville Slugger TPX Exogrid2 will be more evenly balanced. The Easton XL1 will be more end loaded, but will have more flex than the Exogrid2.
Kara Expert · Apr 27, 2012
My son is 13 and more of a contact, line drive hitter. He has been swinging a 31/22.5 Exogrid. Wanting to move to a -5 bat. Would this be a good fit or maybe a Marucci Black?
Asked by MJRebels on Apr 20, 2012
Both are great bats. I always recommend sticking with what is known and comfortable with the player. If he's been using the Exogrid, I recommend sticking with the Louisville Exogrid -5 bat.

Is it legal for IHSSA Indiana High School Sports Association play?
Asked by G-Man on Mar 08, 2012
Bats must be BBCOR certified in order to be used in high school play. This bat is not BBCOR certified, as only adult -3 bats will have that certification. All of our adult -3 BBCOR certified bats can be found here: http://www.justbats.com/products/baseball%20bats~adult/approved%20for~bbcor/
Jennifer Expert · Mar 08, 2012
Is this bat legal for middle school games in New Jersey??? I notice it is not BBCOR. Does that make a difference?
Asked by Hammer on Feb 28, 2012
BBCOR only applies to adult baseball bats. This bat should be legal, but middle schools all operate under their own rules and regulations. I would be sure to check with your coach or league official.
Tyler Expert · Feb 28, 2012
Is there any composite in the bat? Because my league don't allow composite
Asked by pt on Feb 27, 2012
The barrel is alloy, but it does have an internal composite sleeve. This shouldn't matter though as the actual hitting surface is all alloy. I would check with your coach or league official though
Tyler Expert · Feb 27, 2012
Does it also have the "BB" core stamp?
Asked by C on Feb 21, 2012
No this bat is not BBCOR certified. The BBCOR certified bats are all Drop-3 and required for high school level and above.
Tyler M Expert · Feb 21, 2012

is this bat legal for play in junior ball.considering bbcor rules.
Asked by woc1 on Jan 22, 2012
Yes, this bat is legal in junior divison
John Expert · Jan 22, 2012
This is not a bbcor, is this same technology as our -3 exogrid2 black. My son is 13 n we have been using the black one, does it have same pop as that one?
Asked by Cisco on Jan 16, 2012
BBCOR bats are classified Adult bats(-3) only. The Senior league bats will have to have a USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp. So, these bats are different when it comes to performance. BBCOR bats will not have as much "pop" as the USSSA Senior League version.
Bodie Expert · Jan 17, 2012
Would you consider this bat a "balanced" bat? Or is the weight more towards the end for a power swing?
Asked by Jay on Jan 03, 2012
Yes, this bat is considered a balance bat.
John Expert · Jan 03, 2012
I am in my last year of baseball before high school. I am big enough to use a bbcor and I already have one, but of course, bbcor's aren't as good as a -5. I have a lot of power and I could hit a ton of homeruns this year if I had the best -5 bat. I can hit balls 340' with my old non-certified exo. So what is going to be the best, farthest hitting, stiffest -5 USSSA approved bat on the market? Price is no issue.
Asked by ask0805 on Jan 02, 2012
This would be the best option for you if you are looking for the stiffest and best performing.
John Expert · Jan 03, 2012
My son is 13 yrs old and moving up to the juniors division of little league baseball. Last year he was using a -10 bat, would that be too big of a jump in 1 year if we were to go to the -5. We are looking for a big barrel bat and Im not seeing much of anything in between that would be little league approved. He is about 5ft and weighs 90lbs. Any suggestions on a good alternative if you don't think this would work?
Asked by Elly on Dec 12, 2011
The rule as given to us is that IF the bat has a composite barrel, it MUST be USSSA stamped OR BBCOR. Since he is smaller, that gives him a chance to use a lighter bat and build up to the -3 required in the BBCOR. For instance, he could swing a -8, or even a -5, as long as it is USSSA stamped.

what is the top limit for high school
Asked by qwertyuiop on Oct 03, 2011
All high school bats must be BBCOR certified and are a -3. The SL12EX25 is a Senior League bat and can't be used in high school.
K.B. Expert · Oct 04, 2011
How is a stiff handle bat better for power hitters?
Asked by Gavin on Sep 09, 2011
A power hitter needs a stiffer bat because they may be too strong and over flex a regular flex bat, which could take away power. A lighter hitting contact hitter is better suited in a regular flex bat because the bat will have the right amount of flex for them.
Mark Expert · Sep 10, 2011
can you use this bat in college
Asked by hollywood on May 23, 2011
This bat cannot be used in college. All college bats have to be a -3 and BBCOR certified.
Brett Expert · May 23, 2011
