Pros: Added distance to my boys hits. Ball seem to jump off the bat. This bat has become a favorite of his team mates. All their hits seem to travel farther. The only comparable bat on the team is the CF4 (-12)but with the cracking issues, I recommend this one.
Cons: As said before, the grip seems to be poorly attached to the handle and will require retaping soon. But the bat is used a lot.

Pros: My son played his first tournament this weekend and thanks to the new bat he did great. Hits like a champ and swings like its not even there. Half the team was using it by the end of our game. This bat it a WINNER.
Cons: Not a badthing to say.
by speckdaddy - May 16, 2011
Pros: This bat Looks good and it has the stamp Certified USSSA for 2012. It is at a decent price point which makes it better affordable to some parents like me, who are not excited to spend big bucks for a bat that is only good for a couple of seasons. I purchased the 28/18 version and our kids seem to hit it very well in 7&8 yr old coach pitch. My son hit his first home run w/it on his 7th birthday.
Cons: none
by sluggerdaddy - May 19, 2011
Pros: Great pop right from the start. Easy to swing for my 6 year old too. Other boys on the team are checking it out as well.
Cons: None that we've experienced
by CRobinson2012 - May 19, 2011
Pros: This bat is AWESOME!! My son just made the local league all-stars team. He was lacking in his batting. I purchased this bat & it's in the outfield every hit!! He's 8 going on 9. He weighs 63 lbs. The 28 in. 15 oz was ideal size & weight for him. I was advised by a professional to go with a lighter bat in order for the ball to fly far. Some of the other children on his team were extremely poor hitters. They ask to use the bat last nigth at our game. This is just average players on the little league team. Those boys were tickled to death last night. All of them, I repeat ALL of them, hit the ball in the outfield with this bat!!! It's a great investment!!!!!!!!!
Cons: The only con we experienced, was just breaking the bat in & getting him use to swinging a lighter bat. This was overcome within 2 games. If we would've had time to go to the batting cages when we received the bat, there would've been no cons to this bat.

by CHonea - Sep 24, 2011
Pros: This bat is awesome, everything said about it is true. My grandson plays select ball and was having trouble getting a good hit. He said he needed a big barrell bat. I ordered him this bat and "OH" what a difference it has made for him and many of his team-mates. This was the best $100.00 I've ever spent, very well worth it. He hit a home run tonight! Made me proud to be the one that bought that bat! Sure made a believer out of me. Best deal ever, must try for yourself.
Cons: I can't think of any cons at this time.

Pros: Son has the 27inx17oz. He loves the bat and the way the ball feels off the bat. Great choice to pick this one up.
Cons: Right now the bat does not make the distinct ping sound when he hits it, instead more a crack sound. He is hitting really well with it, so not that big of deal overall.
by erom - Feb 20, 2012
Pros: Bat shipped and arrived on time (2 day deliver). I purchased this bat for my son for a tournement. He needed to get a bat that had the USSSA stamp. My son was 7 for 11 in the 9U kid pitch tourney. This bat has pop.

Pros: Ball jumps off the bat Easy to clean off Bat looks great

Pros: Super bat! my 8yr old son is avg height and below avg weight but you wouldn't be able to tell by his hitting. this bat made an immediate and unbelievable impact on his hitting.

Pros: good pop, gave him the confidence he needed, great bat. most of the team uses it now and it performs awesome
Cons: none yet
by erom - Feb 26, 2012
Pros: My son is 9 for 17 using this bat so far. He was hitting the ball well before, but this bat put him to the top. Very good pop on the bat. My son play for a 8u kid pitch team.
Cons: Nothing I can think of...
by - May 11, 2011
Pros: Our 9 year old first year kid pitch team is lighing it up with this new bat! The whole team started to use it after the first few hitters went 4/4 with two doubles and two triples. The pop of the bat is amazing. The kids feel confident at the plate. Really great bat at a good price. I highly recommend this bat.
Cons: Texas red dirt seems to stain the bat when it is dropped after a big knock.
by 34's-dad - May 03, 2011
Pros: My son's 1st @ bat w/ this was a line drive back at the pitcher. This is his 1st big barrel bat and it's taking some time to get used to the end loaded bat , but w/ each swing it's getting better. The ball literally does jump off of this bat. I am sold! He's 5 years old and I can only imagine what he'll be doing w/ this bat by the time he's 7.
Cons: Not a bad thing to say!

Asked by tw47 on Feb 21, 2012
This bat is an alloy bat, and no break in is required. Only composite barrel bats will require a break in.

My son is only 6 and starting rookie this year. It is machine pitch, can you direct me to which bat a little 6 yr old would need for machine pitch?
Asked by Kristel on Feb 08, 2012
Junior Big Barrel bats should not be used in kid pitch because of the thin walls. I would suggest the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha: SL126XL Senior League in a 26" 16oz.
· Feb 09, 2012
Is this bat appropriate for use with pitching machines? (7U & 8U kids)
Asked by tim on Feb 06, 2012
Junior big barrel bats, such as this one, are typically designed for coach pitch and will have thinner walls, so I would not recommend using this particular bat for pitching machines. If you are needing a bat similar to this one that will stand up better against pitching machines, I would recommend looking at youth big barrel bats, such as the one here: http://www.justbats.com/product/2012-louisville-slugger-tpx-omaha--sl126xl-senior-league/13626/.

Asked by Scott on Nov 30, 2011
Junior big barrel bats are going to be designed for coach pitch and will have thinner walls, while senior league is designed for kid pitch and will have thicker walls. If you try to use a junior big barrel you might run into some durability issues.
· Nov 30, 2011
does this bat dent easily
Asked by shortyy on Nov 21, 2011
This bat is recommended for players up to 8yrs old. Anything older, or if your player is bigger or a strong kid, I would recommend a regular senior league bat (don't let the senior thing scare you, it's still a youth big barrel).
· Nov 21, 2011

Which coach pitch has the most pop, and also which omaha is better for coach pitch yb126bb or sl126xl and why?
Asked by lost on Oct 06, 2011
The YB126BB is used for coach pitch only. The SL126XL is designed for kid pitch. Both are good bats, it will just depend on if your son is in coach pitch or kid pitch.
· Oct 07, 2011
What is the difference between the YB126BB and the CP126? They appear to be identical.

There is not a difference. Many leagues were not allowing coach pitch bats to have CP in the model number. Louisville Slugger simply changed the model number to accomadate the leagues.

I just purchased this in a 28/18 for my 10 y/o. It doesn't have the popular "ting" sound but more of a "pop" like a wooden bat. Is this normal for this model?

It is normal with the bigger barrel bats. Also, with the new USSSA 1.15 BPF regulation, in order to meet that standard, the sound is different.
