3.533333 based on 15 ratings. 15 user reviews.

New for 2013! The JNX11C features the USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp and is approved for play in 2012! Attention baseball players: It's time to step your game up to the NeXT level. The Miken NXT Freak is the bat that's going to take you there. By combining the most advanced handle system on the market with DFxT Technology, the NXT Freak is the most complete multi-layer big barrel bat on the market. DFxT Technology works to maximize energy transfer and push the bat to the limits of performance. This is accomplished thanks in part to Miken's dependable and high-performing R900 Composite. With DFxT, the intermix of aerospace grade fiber and aramid fibers in the R900 are precisely angled to result in a massive sweetspot and increased durability while eliminating vibration. It's truly bat technology at it's finest. Acting as a composite shield of sorts, Durashell Technology is applied over the R900 Composite to give it more durability and maximize performance out of the wrapper. The handle of the The NXT Freak features Miken's new Vortex Power Source that harnesses the power of braid reinforcement to increase strength and optimize performance. Each braided layer distributes the load evenly while all layers move seamlessly together for optimal flex, performance, and most importantly: FEEL. This bat is intended for use by players 5-8 years old. Miken: We Don't Play the Game, We Dominate It! The NXT Freak features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp and is approved for play in 2012. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

by b. wallace - Apr 08, 2012

Pros: bat looks great.

Cons: first bat cracked after 8 games. sent in and got another one. 2nd bat the handle broke after 2 games. i am done with miken the bats are made cheap and do not hold up.a 7 year old kid should not be able to do this to a bat. i am going with a louisville slugger or easton. dont waste your money on these cheap made bats.

by All star son - Mar 19, 2012

Pros: Over 200 balls later the bat is still looking great at the barrel. When compared to the other bats with bigger price tags this bat is just as good (catalyst & 1000) all these bats are on my sons team and the miken will compete with them

Cons: still the white grip

2013 Miken NXT Freak: JNX11C Junior Big Barrel

by head bat buyer - Mar 30, 2012

Pros: light, good weight balance for a big barrel bat aimed at younger players.

Cons: The manufacturer does not tell you that this bat is intended for 5-8 yr old COACH (slow) pitch baseball and not intended for machine or player pitch ball. JustBats experts revealed this warning. Had I known that I would not have bought this bat for my 9 yr old elite fast pitch player. Spend the extra $40 for a better bat, like an Easton Omen

by Noah's Dad - Mar 22, 2012

Pros: The bat has a great look. The weighting is good.

Cons: When my son hits the ball with this bat the ball goes no where. I am not sure if it is because it is a 26/14.5 or if it is the bat through out the sizes.

25484

Is the bat approved for kid pitch level? 8-11 yrs old?

The 2013 Miken NXT Freak should not be used in kid pitch. The walls are thinner and could break or dent with high velocity pitches.

24546

Does this bat have the 1.15 BPF stamp on it ?

The 2013 Miken NXT Freak: JNX11C Junior Big Barrel does in fact have the new USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp. If you look at the smaller pictures on the page for this bat, you will be able to see this stamp printed on this bat.

Is this bat conforming for coach pitch little league? Specifically, boy's 1st & 2nd graders, ages 6-8?

No. Only 2 1/4 inch bats are legal in Little League coach pitch or machine pitch. The JNX11C has a 2 3/4 inch barrel.

22604

My son is 7 and small (45 pounds). Trying to decide between the Miken NXT Freak Big Barrell (-11.5) or the the Easton S1 Big Barrell (-12). Looking to create more bat speed, which one would you recomend?

If generating more bat speed is a key component, I would lean towards the S1 as it will have a slightly lighter swing weight than the NXT.

19598

I have an 11 year old son, who is quite small, can he use this bat in 11u USSSA?

The JNX11C is a coach pitch bat and should not be used in machine or kid pitch leagues. The JNX11C does feature the USSSA stamp needed for 2012.

17411

Does the JNX11C have the new USSSA stamp on it?

Yes. If you look at the product images and bat features, the new USSSA stamp is on this bat.

Yes, this bat will feature the USSSA stamp that is going to be required for play in 2012.

17175

What is the difference in Junior and Senior league what ages?

Thanks for the question! Senior League bats are usually made for ages 9 through 15 and rang from 27 to 34 inches in length. Junior league bats are made for ages 4 through 7 are made for pitching under 40 MPH. The Junior League bats are 24 to 27 inches in length and are usually -10 to -14 length to weight ratio.

16929

What oz bat should I get for my son? He is 7 years old an is 4 and half feet tall and 58 lbs.

We suggest a 29" 17.5 oz bat in the JNX11C NXT Freak. The JNX11C is a very good choice, has a very balanced feel and very good pop.

16727

Will this bat work in machine pitch, up to 40 mph?

Junior Big Barrel bats have thinner walls and are only intended to be used in coach pitch. Using the JNX11C with hardcore baseballs will question the durability.

Junior Big Barrel bats are designed for coach pitch leagues. Please check out our "Youth Big Barrel", or "Youth" section for kid pitch bats.
