2013 Worth Prodigy Legit: SLP234 Senior League
3.189189 based on 37 ratings. 37 user reviews.

New for 2013! The SLP234 features the USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp and is approved for play in 2012! Worth's best-selling big barrel bat is back again this season! The Worth Prodigy has made believers out of millions of ball players with its simple, yet extraordinary design. It all starts with Worth's Lithium Alloy. Lithium Alloy is Worth's strongest aluminum and offers players an unrivaled combination of pop and durability. This pop is easily recognized because it's hard to miss with this bat. A MONSTER 2 3/4 inch barrel is one of the most highly coveted features of the Prodigy and when you see it in action, you'll know why. Another reason players and coaches keep coming back to the Prodigy is its balanced loading. The Prodigy Legit offers the most true-to-weight feel and provides little-to-no whip. This balance will undoubtedly give its users more control and consistency every time they step up to the plate. This control and consistency is further enhanced with Worth's popular Silencer Grip that also aims to provide maximum sting and vibration reduction for a better feel. The Prodigy Legit is capped off with a Center Load End Plug that is designed to allow greater barrel flex and 5% more inertia to drive through the ball. Worth: Performance Through Technology! The Prodigy Legit features the USSSA 1.15 Stamp and is approved for play in 2012. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros:

Pros: Very light swing weight..feels lighter than the 20 oz Rawlings Velo. Confident-sounding loud pings with each hit. Seems to have more pop than other alloys. Just received the 30'' for 10 yr old.

Cons: Lettering and graphics will chip off easily

by MWC - Mar 02, 2012

Pros: hot bat. Worth customer service easy to work with.

Cons: Had 2 of these bats less than 2 weeks old, 1 dented on the 2nd use of live baseballs and the other had the handle knob fall off. 7 and 8 yr olds should NOT be able to destroy a senior league bat in 2 weeks.

by Changeup - Feb 20, 2012

Pros: My son plays 10U Open baseball and just dumped his Rawlings 5150 for this bat. He absolutely loved it...better balance, more power and feels as light as his 29-19. More importantly, it gave him instant "feel" and that translates to confidence in the box.

Cons: All of the new bats look like they're 10 years old after the first travel weekend. Poor paint, chips and scratches easily, and we've had 3 5150's dent already. I will assume these will dent as well.

by TimmyCagle - Mar 01, 2012

Pros: None

Cons: This bat dented on the 8th pitch that I threw to my 12U son. We have been using Worth Prodigy bats for years and this is the worst bat they have made. Do not buy this bat. I received my bat on February 17, 2012 and have already sent it back for a replacement. Do not buy this bat. If you can still get the 2012 model buy it. This bat is worthless

Pros: Good pop out of the box. Has a sweet ping sound on a solid hit.

Cons: DENTS DENTS DENTS! Received this bat as a replacement to the white Lithium. First batting practice using regulation baseballs with 9/10 yr olds, it dented in the transition. Still has pop, but it looks like a throw away bat now. Very disappointed.

Pros: Great Bat.. get 2 and just return them when they dent. If you can't afford to do that- get another bat. Huge sweetspot and swings great!

Cons: Dents right by the "w" in worth and "p" in prodigy

2013 Worth Prodigy Legit: SLP234 Senior League

by The Bomber - May 14, 2012

Pros: This bat is ok, not as good as the previous Prodigies. Worth does make a good product. We like the big barrel and the lound sound. Like the summary says, its for power hitters with a good stroke, its definitely stiff. We have not had a problem denting, I don't know what people are hitting with these things, but no problems here.

Cons: Just average pop thats why I can't rate higher. Older models are better. Sticker? Really?

by JB - Mar 06, 2012

Pros: Bought in 28/18. Great pop. If you like the "ping", this bat is for you. Son hits well with it and loves it.

Cons: This is a thin wall bat like the other Pridigy models..it WILL dent, especially if jammed. The barrel never dented. Performance never suffered. I knew the risk before purchasing. You sacrifice durability for pop with this bat. I have one sent out for replacement, and a new one on the way for this weekend.

by Northport - Mar 09, 2012

Pros: Looks sweet. Sounds Sweet. Pop is Good.

Cons: We bought 2. One team bat, and one for my son. My son is pretty small for seven and it dented after about three swings. Whe let him keep hitting it and it looks like it has been hit against a telephone pole. The other bat lasted through approximately 30 swings. It now looks the same. I am shocked. Never been this disappointed in worth in all the years of use. Buy the easton s3 or s1. Please let Worth know they need to send out appology letters on this one.

Ask Question

22484

Does this bat have the newer USSSA stamp on it for 2013 rules?

Yes, this bat does have the new USSSA stamp. It is legal for play in 2012 and beyond!

22483

How does this bat compare with the Demarini Voodoo with the cool graphics? My son is 9yo and has used the smaller Worth Lithium in Coach Pitch and hit well with it. Which would you suggest?

This bat is a one piece aluminum bat, whereas the Voodoo is a two piece bat. The Prodigy Legit is going to be a stiffer bat and will be a great option for power hitters who have a good swing and are looking to hit more for power. The two piece design of the Voodoo offers a little bit of flex and is great for contact hitters or those who may not have as much natural power as others. Without knowing what kind of hitter your son is, it is hard to determine which would be better, but both are good options.

19256

How does this bat compare to the Easton S2 for good contact hitter with avg power?

This bat has a one piece design that is usually preferred by power hitters. One piece bats are pretty stiff and help generate more power. If you are looking for a bat for a contact hitter, I would suggest checking out a two piece bat. The two piece design is not as stiff as a one piece and helps better with placing hits and helps those hit that do not have much natural power.

18981

Is this bat legal for a 7 and 8 year old Dizzy Dean?

Absolutely it is. This bat has the BPF 1.15 certification on the barrel, making it legal in Dizzy Dean

17246

I bought two black Lithium Prodigy bats last year and both dented pretty quickly. They were coach pitch 26 16. Are the senior league more durable?

Senior League bats do have thicker walls as they are made for "kid pitch" making them more durable than Coach Pitch bats.

15817

My son has the Worth Lithium Edge Prodigy, which has been awesome. Is the 2013 Worth Prodigy Legit replacing the Worth Lithium Edge?

The 2013 Worth Lithium Edge Prodigy: SLLPRO Senior is the new edition of the 2012 model. The 2013 model uses the same technology and materials that are used in the 2012 model.

15244

How does the Legit compare to the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPX Catalyst: SL12C Senior League bat. My 9 year old son is a lead off hitter, and needs a good bat with some good pop. I can't decide which one to get.

Both are high quality bats, but are constructed differently. The Prodigy is a one piece alloy bat and the Catalyst is a one piece all composite design. The Prodigy is going to be a little stiffer than the Catalyst, but will be good for power.

15121

What is the difference between the Prodigy Legit and the Lithium Prodigy?

The Prodigy Legit has a slightly smaller handle than the Lithium Edgy Prodigy. Otherwise they are the same.

14960

What is the difference between the Prodigy Legit and the Lithium Edge Prodigy?

The Prodigy Legit has a slightly smaller handle than the Lithium Edgy Prodigy. Otherwise they are the same.

14905

Is this bat made out of the D955 Lithium Alloy?

Yes. The Legit is made of D955 lithium alloy. This bat has very good pop and has a large sweet spot.

14452

What kind of swing type is this best for? My son is in 8U Coach Pitch but is a large kid. He has a fast swing as well.

This is a one piece all alloy designed bat that has a balanced swing feel to it. It would be a great bat for a contact hitter with a fast swing.

14432

What's the difference between the Lithium and the Prodigy models?

The difference between the two will be in the handles. To me, the Legit felt like it had a smaller handle than the Edge Prodigy. They both have same materials and will have great pop.

14326

What is the best way to measure my son for a bat?

You can determine the size of the bat by selecting Youth Big bBarrel bats and then go to helpful topics. There you can select "How do I select a youth big barrel bat?" Also check out our Bat Coach which is listed at the top of the page.

14290

Does it have the USSSA stamp on the bat?

Yes. This bat does have the USSSA stamp making it legal for USSSA play.

14200

Where is the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp located?

The stamp is located on the lower part of the barrel. Please contact us if you recently purchased this bat without a stamp.

13988

How does this bat compare to the TPX Omaha?

They are both one piece alloy bats, and have comparable performance levels.

13825

Are you saying the 2013 Legit is only available from JustBats.com? That is what an earlier answer seemed to be saying. I am specifically interested in the differences between the 2013 Legit and the 2012 Lithium Prodigy 2 3/4 barrel (black/red)

No, the Legit is not made just for Justbats. The 2013 Prodigy (White Barrel) is the model that is made specifically for Justbats.com. The Legit and the 2012 Prodigy are going to be very similar. The Legit will have a lower MOI giving a lighter swing weight.

13728

What is the difference between the "Worth Prodigy Legit" and the "Worth Prodigy Edge"

Both these bats use the Lithium alloy technology. The main difference between these two is the updated cosmetic change in the Legit.

13570

DOES THE PRODIGY LEGIT HAVE THE EXTENDED BARREL LIKE THE WORTH LITHIUM EDGE PRODIGY?

Yes, the Legit will have an extended barrel like the edge. Both of these bats have great pop and a large sweet spot.

13484

Do you recamend this bat to 10 u full time travel ?

Yes, this bat has a lot of pop and a balanced feel to it

13461

Will they come out with a 32 22?

As of 1/20/12 the biggest size we will get will be a 31". This bat is not manufactured in a 32".

13293

Will this bat only be available in drop 10?

Yes. It is only available in a -10. If you need some help finding a different weight feel free to contact us @ 866-321-2287.

13292

How does this bat stack up against a 2012 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League bat? Trying to decide between the two for my son who is 9. He has a great, quick swing, but would like to add some power.

The Legit is going to be a one piece all alloy bat. It is stiffer and better for a power hitter. The Vexxum is a two piece bat, better for a contact hitter. This bat will add power to your sons game due to the stiff feel.

13180

Will the 2012 go on sale with 2013's out now?

We don't have an estimated time when the 2012 models will go on sale. If you're on our email list we will notify you on upcoming sales.

13169

I noticed the Legit (SLP234) sounds different than last years model(102). Is there a difference in the alloy?

All the Prodigy's have Worth's Lithium Alloy. These bats have very good pop and a large sweet spot for maximum power.

12903

How does this bat differ from the Worth Prodigy SL102 (black)?

The 2013 Prodigy is just a special edition model for Justbats.com. There is no other differences other than graphics.

12376

How is this Prodigy any different from the other ones? Is Worth going to come out with any other sizes?

The Prodigys are very similar from year to year. These bats have very good pop and very large sweet spots. This bat is very popular for those looking to add power to their game. All sizes available will be listed.
