Pros: This bat is amazing I have never felt anything like it. All you have to do is hit the ball and it comes off like a rocket.I coach all my JV kids and they all use this bat really good job by Easton.

Cons: Only problem does have a little sting if you don't wear batting gloves.

Review Summary

2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3
4.888889 based on 9 ratings. 9 user reviews.

New for 2014! The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, S3, and S4). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3, S4). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The S3 is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by Easton's Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3

by Kyle petty - Sep 23, 2013

Pros: Easton brought this bat to my high school for a demo an let us test all the new 2014 easton models. I felt that this was the best bat I swung. It is well balanced and has great pop. I'm only 5'10 135 and hit a homerun on my last pitch out of the 8 I saw.

Cons: I felt a little vibration but nothing that effects your swing and feel of the bat.

by Beckham - Nov 26, 2013

Pros: Great for a small built player that isn't a power hitter. Gives me more pop then my other bats. I've hit a few out using it. Great weight balance for batters both base-hitters and power hitters. Whole team has used it and loves it just a much. My coach is actually thinking about ordering a few for the team.

Cons: None.

2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3

by Lil D - Jan 24, 2014

Pros: I used this bat at a demo and noticed a big difference in the way the ball came off the bat. I am one of the smaller guys on my middle school team and have always been a line drive hitter and on occasions I have hit with power. With this bat I have noticed my swing feels faster than other -3 bats i have used and the ball looks like it bounces off of the barrel so much quicker. It's way to early to say to just how much but my coach has noticed I'm hitting with more power than before. No home runs yet but it has definitely improved my pop.

Cons: Does have some vibration at times but no more than other bats that I have used.

by Ethan Grady - Mar 13, 2014

Pros: I am a sophomore and i think This is a great bat i have swung the s3 from last year and this bat feels a little heavier then last year.. but other than that great pop and feels great! Also the vibration is kinda bad if you get a one piece bat, you should expect that

Cons: Vibration and the heaviness to me

im 6'3 180 i have tried the xl but i cant hit with it. i want more power so what should i get the s3 or s4

The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: (BB14S3) would be an excellent choice to look at it if you are looking for more power. It will be a one-piece alloy design and will be extremely balanced. The even weight distribution and alloy materials will make this model perfect for power players.

87682

What is the difference between the S3 BBCOR and S4 BBCOR?

The difference between the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) and the 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR (BB14S4) is the barrel diameter. The S3 features the standard 2 5/8 inch barrel and the S4 has a 2 1/2 inch barrel. This can help increase bat speed by cutting down on mass and gives it more of a wood bat feel in an alloy design.

86916

I am about to go to BBCOR bats. I am 5'2" 105 pounds. Which bat would you recommend Exogrid 3, DeMarini CF5, or Easton S3?

All three bats are very balanced bats. They are great for a player making the transition to a BBCOR bat. The S3 is a one-piece design and will be the stiffest of the three bats. The DeMarini CF5 will have the most flex and best for a contact hitter.

86887

I am 13, going into 14U. I'm 5'1 about 88 pounds, which size do you think I should get?

We would recommend a 29" in the Easton S3 (BB14S3) for a player with your height and weight.

86880

I have the S3 BBCOR 2012 model. If the end cap falls off would it still have pop? Or will it lose its pop when I put it back on?

If the end cap of the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3 Adult) bat comes off the performance would suffer greatly. This would be the same in any previous year models as well.

86667

What's the difference between the S3 and the S4?

The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3 and the 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR: BB14S4 are both one-piece alloy bats. The only difference is the S4 has a 2 1/2" barrel and the S3 has a 2 5/8" barrel.

86445

What is the recommended temperature for this bat?

The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) Adult is not recommended for use under 55 degrees. For a lot of people in the country that is not possible and this bat does come with a 12 month manufacturer warranty.

86287

I am 14. I am 5 foot 9 and weigh 160 pounds. I got this bat in the 33 inch 30 ounce size. Will that be a good size?

Based on your height and weight, the 33 inch model of the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) would be a good fit for you.

85822

What is another bat that this is comparable to this with the same amount of pop?

The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) Adult is comparable in pop and feel to the 2014 Rawlings 5150 Alloy BBCOR (BB513) Adult and the 2014 Marucci ONE BBCOR (MCB1) Black Adult.

85292

I am going to be a Freshman. I am more of a power hitter. Would the 2014 Easton S3 or the 2014 S4 be better for me?

The difference between the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) Adult and the Easton S4 is that the S4 has a 2 1/2 inch barrel. As far as power hitters go, they may prefer something that is end loaded like the XL series.

85171

What are the differences between this years bat and last years?

The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) Adult is the exact same as the 2013 S3, it just has a different paint scheme.

84868

My son is 4'10" and 75lbs., is this the best bat for him?

You can't go wrong with this bat I would suggest it in a 30" 27 oz.. Another Easton bat I would suggest is the Easton S4 (BB14S4 Adult). Easton S4 comes in a smaller barrel size in a 2 1/4" compared to a 2 5/8 barrel size in the Easton S3 (BB14S3 Adult). With that comes a little bit quicker bat speed. In the Easton S4 (BB14S4 Adult) I would suggest a 29" 26 oz..

84783

Would you recommend this bat or the Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR?

Both the Easton 2014 S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) and the 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR (BBAS14-RR) Adult are one-piece balanced bats and be similar in performance.

84071

Should I get this bat, the VELO, or the RIP-IT? Which one has the most pop but is also very balanced? I bat third in the line up for a 14U majors team. We will be attending many showcase tournaments and I need a bat that will help me perform at my best. If there are other bats you think would be good for me please tell me. I'm looking for an aluminum bat with lots of pop and great balance. I'm 14 years old, 5'11" and 209 lbs. I bat 3rd or 4th in the line up. I am also a line drive hitter but can occasionally hit home runs.

The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3 Adult) along with the RIP-IT BBCOR and Rawlings VELO will all feature one-piece fully alloy designs. They will all be very balanced and swing easily. I have heard great comments about all three from our customers. I would feel confident recommending any of the three for you at your size and hitting style.

84007

My 15 year old is about 5'6" and about 125lbs. He is very strong, would he be able to swing the 33-30?

We would recommend a 32" in the 2014 Easton S3 (BB14S3) for a player with his height and weight.

83894

My 13 yr old son is 5'11" and 128 lbs. according to all of the charts he should be swinging a 33 in bat. Is there a good rule of thumb that allows for an exceptionally tall young player that can't yet generate the needed bat speed for the size bat that would usually be recommended.....or is it just trial and error?

It is generally going to be a trial and error process when figuring out what exact size fits comfortably for the player. The general recommendation is what most average players a certain height and weight use. However, there will always be exceptions.

83809

How does the barrel diameter on the S3 compare to the barrel on the S4? I am a smaller kid going into high school, and I was wondering if I should get the S3 or the S4 because the S4 has a smaller barrel which could give me more bat speed. But I am concerned that my contact will suffer if I don't get the S3 because of the barrel size.

The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) Adult bat features a 2 5/8" barrel diameter while the S4 offers the slightly smaller 2 1/2" barrel diameter. The S4 is specifically designed for smaller players who are looking for a slightly more balanced bat. The S4 should allow you to reach slightly higher swing speeds than the S3, but the S3 is a very light swinging bat as well. You would be sacrificing 1/8" in diameter in hitting surface with the S4, but it's hard to say which you would feel more comfortable using until you were able to feel the swing weight of each yourself.

83241

What is difference between S3 and XL1 besides the construction of the bat? Are they both designed for power hitters?

The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) is balanced and better designed for a contact hitter. The XL1 is end loaded and would be best suited for a power hitter.

83208

I'm a sophmore in high school and I'm 6' 155 lbs. I hit for contact, gappers mostly. What bat would you recommend out of the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) Adult and Easton S4 BBCOR (BB14S4) Adult?

Both are great bats. The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) Adult has a larger 2 5/8" barrel, whereas the Easton S4 BBCOR (BB14S4) Adult has a smaller 2 1/2" barrel.

81140

How does the 2014 S3 compare to the 2014 Rawlings 5150? Is one better?

The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3 Adult and the 2014 Rawlings 5150 are high quality bats. They both are one-piece alloy bats that are very balanced and high performing.

81026

Does this bat have a USSSA stamp? If not, is it certified for play?

The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) Adult features the BBCOR .50 certification stamp. It does not have a USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp, but depending on the division, a BBCOR bat is typically legal for play as well.

80623

Is the bat balanced?

The Easton S3 does have a balanced swing weight, and is a one-piece fully constructed of alloy material. Here is the link to view more details on the Easton S3. http://www.justbats.com/product/2014-easton-s3-bbcor--bb14s3-adult/18455/

80006

What is the difference between the S3 BBCOR and the Louisville Slugger Omaha BBCOR?

The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) and the Omaha will be extremely comparable. Both are one-piece alloy and balanced.

79609

Is this bat or the S2 a better bat?

It really depends on the design that you prefer as to which is better. Both bats are very balanced, but the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3 Adult is a one-piece alloy while the S2 is a two-piece hybrid (alloy barrel with a composite handle). The two-piece design helps create some additional trampoline effect for players with average swing speeds, but the one-piece design transfers energy to the ball more efficiently. To help with the decision, I would reflect on the bats you have used in the past with the most success.

78492

I am a 5' 11" middle of the lineup hitter. What bat would you recommend for me to use?

Answer Question

The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3 Adult is better suited for contact hitters with its balanced swing weight. We recommend a 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult for power hitters.

77206

I'm 15, 5'8 and 130 pounds, I am a line drive hitter and want a good balanced bat that suits me. Which bat in the Speed series do you recommend I get?

The 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB14S1 Adult and the 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB14S2 Adult are going to be better for contact hitters, because of the two-piece design. It will come down to preference in a composite barrel for the S1 or the alloy barrel for the S2.

74448

I was wondering if I should get this bat? I am a contact hitter and I was thinking about getting this or the Easton S2. I am 14, 4"11 and 100lbs.

The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3 Adult will be a one-piece all alloy bat whereas the 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB14S2 Adult is a two-piece hybrid design. The S2 and its two-piece design is better suited for contact hitters, while the S3 is better suited for power hitters.

71939

I was wondering what is the difference between each of the speed series? I just bought the new S3. Which is better for me? I am 5'5 and 125 pounds.

The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3 Adult is a one-piece alloy bat. The 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB14S1 Adult is a two-piece composite bat and the 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB14S2 Adult is two-piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel. The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR is designed for a power hitter.

70548

I'm 14 years old, and 5' 10", and 160 pounds, I have power, should I get the S3? If so, what length should I get?

The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3 Adult is a great bat. You should get it in a 33".

70291

What is the difference between the 2014 Easton S3 and the 2014 Easton S4?

The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3 Adult has a 2 5/8" barrel and the 2014 Easton S4 has a 2 1/2" barrel. That will be the only difference.

68169

Is it better then the S1?

Both are good bats. The Easton S1 will be higher performing than the Easton S3 because it is a two-piece composite bat, whereas the Easton S3 is a one-piece alloy.

67172

My 13 year old son is 5'5", 105 pounds and will enter a U14 league in the spring that requires BBCOR. What Easton bat would you recommend in terms of model and size? He has never been a big power hitter.

The 2014 Easton speed models line features several very balanced, high performing models. I would recommend the Easton S1, S2, or S3. According to his size, he would be well suited for a 31" or 32" model.

66557

Which Easton BBCOR bat is most like the Easton Omen?

The 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB14S1 Adult is a two-piece fully composite design and will be very similar to the Easton Omen. Both bats have IMX composite barrels and a low M.O.I. for a lighter swing weight.

64364

What is the difference between this S3 and the 2013 S3?

There have been no changes made to materials between the 2013 and 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3 Adult. The only difference will be the color scheme, and the new 2014 Easton models carry 12 month warranties through the manufacturer.
