2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite: B1403E

by Ian Luttrell - Oct 14, 2013

Pros: This bat perfectly fits my style of hitting, line drives to the alleys and occasionally having the pop to clear the fence. Their customer support is also 2nd to none!

Cons: Hopefully the end cap issue has been taken care off because I really loves this bat.

Review Summary

2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite: B1403E
4.880952 based on 42 ratings. 42 user reviews.

New for 2014! Last season, a revolution was born when RIP-IT introduced their AIR Technology to BBCOR bats. That revolution was built on SPEED, BALANCE, and POWER. This season, RIP-IT takes it to a whole other level with BBCOR AIR Elite. The TWO-PIECE design of the RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite is constructed from an R2 Alloy barrel and R2 Composite handle, giving it even better balance for even faster bat speed. The BBCOR AIR Elite also features RIP-IT's Rifle Barrel Technology. This technological advancement removes weight from the barrel without reducing the overall wall thickness of the bat - keeping durability intact. This is achieved by cutting precise grooves inside the barrel, resulting in dramatically lower M.O.I. and increasing bat speed. The BBCOR AIR Elite also features an Acoustic Barrel design that channels and amplifies specific performance frequencies to give players a beautiful "ping" sound when good contact is made. Down towards the handle you'll find a Contact Grip that is designed for incredible vibration reduction and extreme durability. RIP-IT is so confident that you'll love this bat, they're offering a 30 Day Love It or Return It performance guarantee. If you don't love your new BBCOR AIR Elite, simply send it back to RIP-IT within 30 days for a full refund. You've got nothing to lose. RIP-IT: Speed Matters! This bat is BBCOR Certfied and legal for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by a Full 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite: B1403E

by UCF Bound 2014! - Oct 23, 2013

Pros: I tried this bat at a demo day in Orlando and I was really impressed with the balance, feel, and performance. The two piece design is the first I tried from Rip-It and it did make the bat a lot more balanced than the other two Rip-It BBCOR bats I tried. With the more balanced feel I could really feel a difference in bat speed and the pop from the added bat speed was very noticeable. Outside of the performance, the love it or return it policy and 400 day warranty are pretty cool. The Rip-It rep also told me that the warranty is unlimited replacements with free shipping. Overall I am putting this bat on the top of my list for next season.

Cons: I took 3 rounds in the cage with the bat and based on that time could not come up with any negatives as far as performance. I did notice however that the white grip will probably get dirty through use.

Pros: Extremely balanced bat and thats exactly what i like/want with a bbcor bat. It has great feel to it just like a BESR bat. The thick grip is also has a great feel to it to me. Easily the best bat ive ever used.

Cons: The grip gets dirty easily, but thats a very minor con. Rest of the bat is amazing.

by Harryaz - Jan 19, 2014

Pros: Amazingly balanced. enormous sweet spot, great pop. Rip It stays ahead of the field in producing the best all around baseball bats on the market. you can't go wrong buying Rip It, especially with their unmatched 400 day love it or return it policy

Cons: i have only heard some models provide more distance or power but if you are interested in distance only artifically created by the bat, go for it. When you have to use wood, you'll find out how strong you really are (not)!

2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite: B1403E

by Jason - Jan 22, 2014

Pros: The bat looks amazing and feels great in your hands. We went up about 2 inches with this new bat and it feels lighter than his previous bat, also a drop 3. The color scheme makes the bat head look really small but holding it up against last years Prototype the bat head/sweet spot is the same size. After the first cage session with it my son was impressed with the amount of pop it had and how balanced and fast it was. Not to mention the sound off the bat is really impressive.

Cons: none yet. Was hesitant about the 2 piece design since up until now Rip It only made 1 piece bats but after the first cage session I'm not concerned about it any more. I'm going to rely on Rip Its amazing warranty and return policy if anything goes wrong.

2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite: B1403E

by Craig Nelsen - Feb 02, 2014

Pros: Soft feel in your hands.,, which generates tremendous bat speed. I bought this bat for my son whose has average hand speed through the swing, the Rip-IT Elite doubled his hand speed through the zone and the ball is now jumping off the bat. Great warranty on this product but you will not be returning this bat. This is the 3rd one we have owned over the last 4 seasons. So if you are looking to improve your OBP but the RIP-IT Elite bat TODAY!!!!

Cons: NONE, this bat was flawlessly designed.

by Cortlandt Nelsen - Feb 02, 2014

Pros: This is my 3rd RIP-IT bat I have owned and I have loved each and every one of them. This years model is the best! The ball is popping off the bat with a normal swing and the is NO vibration what so ever. You will love the grip and feel of this bat in your hands from the very first time you grip the bat. I have used Demarini in the past but the RIP-IT surpasses all the rest.

Cons: NONE. This bat sets the standard for BBCO bats period!

2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite: B1403E

by Ron Jones - Mar 19, 2014

Pros: The transition from 12U to 13U baseball is a difficult one. The move to 60/90 fields along with many leagues require the use of -3 BBCOR bats makes for some very low scoring baseball games. My son is a small/medium contact hitter, but he had his share of homeruns in the past too. I really didn't expect much at the start of this season, but he surprised me. His bat speed is still very fast and has shown great pop with the Rip-it BBCOR Air Elite. He was swinging wood until we purchased this bat and there is a noticeable difference when he makes contact (more consistent contact too). He tried his teammate's bats, but he really likes his Rip-it. I'm feeling a little better about the season ahead and it looks like he is going to make the school baseball team too (not many 7th graders make that cut). Great product and the best warranty in the business! I would definitely recommend this bat! Check back in a few weeks...I will update this post after a couple games/ tournaments.

by Sam Hardin - Elgin High School - Feb 04, 2014

Pros: Just recently received the new Rip-It Air Elite in 32.5/29.5. The weight distribution of this two piece bat is perfect. I have swung a 5150 32/29 in the past and do not notice a weight difference with the new Air Elite. I will be working to break this bat in before our spring season starts. Excited to get it broken in.

2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite: B1403E

by Spencer - Apr 01, 2014

Pros: I love the balance and overall feel of the bat. The two-piece design provides a great balance and feel to the bat. The color scheme and overall style of the bat is top-notch, including the unmatched, regarding comfort, grip.

Cons: The only, and absolute only dowfall I could find was the sometimes unforgiveness. Over the past month or so, I noticed that hits of the end of the bat, or not perfectly among the sweet spot, were often duds. But, the pop and balance that this bat brings to the table far outweighs this user error.

2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite: B1403E

by Starting Centerfielder - Apr 11, 2014

Pros: This bat has an extremely balanced swing, one of the most as a matter of fact. The grip- The vibration reduction technology passes with flying colors, you can barely feel it if you hit it down on the knob. The sweetspot- This bat has a reasonable sweetspot, not as large as the Easton Mako, but even if you dont hit it on the sweetspot the ball will fly. Conclusion- This bat is one of the best ive used and can out perfrom most other 2-piece bats, I recommend this for contact hitters.

Cons: None!

2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite: B1403E

by Austin J - Apr 21, 2014

Pros: I'm playing for 3 teams this Spring, so I'm getting a lot of use from this bat. This is my first year using BBCOR (13U), so I didn't know what to expect. The bat is great! I can feel a difference in the weight from 31/28 vs 31/21 last season, but it hasn't slowed my swing down. The bat has great balance and pop! I'm leading my travel team in AVG, OBP, SLG, and OPS after 30 plate appearances. The season is still young, but I really like this bat!!!!!!!!

Cons: I already purchased a new grip. The white grip looks great, but gets dirty fast.

Ask Question

88101

Is the Rip-It Air Elite more for a contact hitter or power hitter?

The 2014 RIP-IT AIR Elite (B1403E) is a two-piece design which is typically preferred by contact hitters.

87765

My son is 5'9" and 134 lbs., what size bat should he use?

Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 31" 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E). For more information regarding sizing, check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/

87638

Which bat would be considered the lightest swinging bat on the market? Is it possible to choose one overall winner?

I'm not sure if it is possible to choose one overall, as it seems to be largely based on personal opinion, since it's hard to know until you actually get a bat in your hands, and bats can feel different to different people. Personally, I think the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK may be the lightest and best balanced bat out right now.

87608

Will the R2 alloy have more "pop" than the R1 alloy?

The R2 Alloy on the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) will have better performance than the R1 Alloy previously used by RIP-IT.

87567

How does the 2014 RIP-IT AIR Elite compare to the 2014 Rawlings Trio for balance, swing speed, and pop?

The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) and the 2014 Rawlings TRIO BBCOR (BBTRIO) are both very balanced bat with great pop. Both use top of the line materials for outstanding performance and durability.

87418

Is the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) a good bat for contact hitters?

The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) is a great bat for contact hitters. It combines an extremely balanced swing weight with huge performance and distance ability.

87339

I've heard that the sweet spot is smaller on this bat then on the rip it Prototype Air. Is this true?

The two-piece design of the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) makes for a more direct taper from the barrel to the handle than on the 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR (B1403) the actual sweet spot of the bat would be around the same size though.

86947

How does the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR Elite B1403E compare against the Easton Mako?

The Rip-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) is a two-piece hybrid so it has a alloy barrel with a R2 composite handle. It will have a contact grip which eliminates vibration. The Easton Mako (BB14MK) is a two-piece composite bat. It also has a patented ConneXion technology which reduces vibration. Both are great bats and the deciding factor really comes down to personal preference.

86835

Do you have a two bat deal?

The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) Adult bat is not currently featured in any of our bat packs.

86426

How does this bat compare to the CF6? Which one would you recommend?

The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) and the 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR (DXCFC) are tough to compare because they are different by design. While they are both top of the line, high performance models, they are made of different materials. The Air Elite features an alloy barrel and composite handle while the CF6 features a fully composite design. Both will offer some flex with the two-piece design and both will adhere to BBCOR standards of performance. The preference for which one you would like would be determined by which barrel material you prefer to use.

86410

What is the difference between the 1403A and 1403E?

The RIP-IT BBCOR Air Elite (B1403E) is going to be a two-piece design with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The RIP-IT BBCOR Air (B1403A) is a one-piece all alloy design.

86059

does this bat have a big barrel?

Yes the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) has a 2 5/8" barrel size.

85883

What would cause the grip on this bat to separate after three batting practices? My son loves the bat. Should we consider replacing with RIP-IT or just replace the grip?

It's hard to say what exactly caused the grip to fail, but both of those options are open to you. Many players end up re-gripping a bat to their preference, and there are a lot of after market grip options out there. But RIP-IT may be able to either send you a new grip or replace it under the 30 Day Guarantee. If your player is a left handed hitter, this may be the issue. The way the grip tape is oriented on the bat is better suited to withstand the friction created by a right handed hitter. Lefties will often run into this issue, and it's better to re-grip the bat in the opposite direction, but I'm not certain if this applies to your situation. You can contact RIP-IT directly at (888) 957-4748.

85354

Is there a big difference between 32.5" and 32"?

The 1/2" difference in length and weight in the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) will be minor. You shouldn't notice a big difference in feel between the two.

85083

What is the best temperature recommended?

We do not recommend using the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) Adult bat in weather below 55 degrees.

84965

About how many swings does it take to break in?

Due to the fact that the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite: B1403E Adult is a hybrid bat with a R2 Composite Handle and a R2 Alloy Barrel it will not require any break in period.

84636

Does it perform better than the 2014 RIP-IT AIR?

Yes, the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite: B1403E Adult bat will feature an R2 composite handle. This will decrease the amount of vibration felt and help it be more comfortable. Also, two-piece bat designs can help increase swing speeds with more of a whipping action upon the swing. The pop of off the R2 alloy barrel will be the same between the AIR and AIR Elite.

84630

How does this bat compare to the RIP-IT BBCOR AIR?

The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E Adult) will feature a two-piece design with the new R2 composite handle and the R2 alloy barrel. The RIP-IT BBCOR AIR will feature a one piece, all alloy design. Both are very high performing and will help maximize bat speed.

84561

How is this bat compared to the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) Adult?

The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) Adult will be more end loaded for a power hitter, whereas the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) Adult will be more balanced for a contact hitter.

84164

Are you making the RIP-IT in 33" models?

The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E Adult) is made by RIP-IT, not justbats.com. They do make 33" models. We are currently out of stock on that size and should have more back in stock in roughly 2-4 weeks.

84081

Does this bat dent easily?

No, the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E Adult) does not dent easily. If for some reason it does RIP-IT offers an unlimited number of replacements through out the warranty period.

83440

How does this bat compare to Eastom Mako

The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) and the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) are both quality options that meet BBCOR certification. While both bats are high performing models, they are different in their design and material makeup. The RIP-IT AIR Elite is a two piece hybrid design featuring a composite handle and an alloy barrel. The Easton MAKO is a two piece design as well, but both the barrel and the handle are composite. Player preference would determine which barrel material is right for them. Both bats are state of the art as far as technology and construction and both are capable of high performance within the BBCOR guidelines.

83193

My son is a 6'3 200 lb. high school junior. Which bat would you recommend for him? 2014 Elite or Air and what size?

Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 34" bat. The AIR will feature a one-piece fully alloy design. While the AIR Elite will have a composite handle and an alloy barrel. The two-piece design will help increase swing speed and will also dampen vibration. Ultimately, it us up to the player and whether they prefer the one-piece design of the AIR or the two-piece design of the AIR Elite.

82598

Does this bat come in a 33.5" length?

The only half size the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) comes in is 32.5".

82543

How balanced is this bat compared to a good balanced wood bat?

The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) Adult will feel more balanced than a well balanced wood bat.

82494

Would you consider this one of the most balanced bats you can get?

The 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1403E) is one of the most balanced BBCOR models.
