Pros: Great pop, durable bat. 3 other kids on my son's 10U team use his bat (29") instead their own. Never heard a complaint about stinging. PING - bat even sounds good when hit. Can't go wrong with this one at 1/2 the price of other composites.
Cons: scuffs up easily, but who cares.
Review Summary

This season Easton introduces a new hybrid two-piece bat called the Convert. Made with a 7050 Aircraft Alloy barrel with an IMX Composite Handle, this bat is made for performance. The 7050 Aircraft Alloy on the extended barrel is not only durable, but provides for a huge trampoline effect. The IMX or Integrated Matrix Technology strengthens and optimizes the composite structure, giving you a bat with extraordinary performance and extreme durability. features Easton's patented ConneXion Design System which optimizes performance using "hinge" technology for efficient energy transfer and flex. The ConneXion design seperates the barrel from the handle which creates an expanded hitting surface and greatly reduces the chance of sting or vibration. The 29/32 Inch tapered handle provides for regular handle flex and a cushioned grip for excellent control. With a 1.15 BPF and a 2 1/4 inch barrel diameter, this bat is approved for play in all major youth leagues including Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie Youth, Pony, AABC, and USSSA. The Easton Convert comes backed by Easton's Exclusive 400 Day Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Great price--especially when experimenting with the composites. Definately the way to go, my son is consistantly driving the ball harder and further. Tremendous sweet spot, perfect length/weight ratio for the smaller player. Overall graet bat.
Cons: Should have purchaced it last year--what a difference!

Pros: My sons says there is no sting. He's hitting as far or further than his illegal composite bat (by little league new rules). Had to buy a legal bat since he made all-stars. Led the team in batting in the first tournament. This new bat was even 1" longer and 1 oz heavier. We got it the day before the tournament. He loves the bat.
Cons: None yet

Pros: Great bat. bought this for my 6yo son in Tball(27/15). first game, first hit, he nailed a deep drive into CF...GrandSlam! Next at-bat, Triple, only reason he didn't make it around to home was he was too busy watching the ball flight!! Nice design, not too heavy and not too light. it'll drive the ball, don't worry. can't go wrong with the 400day warranty.
Cons: nothing so far.

Pros: I bought this 28"-16 oz. bat for my 7 year old son who plays in a 7-8 year old league that uses a pitching machine set at 46 feet away and at 41 MPH. He has been hitting the ball extremely well with a lot of power and now just about the whole team is using it. Great bat and underpriced!
Cons: None

Pros: Good balance, good pop in warm weather
Cons: Scuffs very easily, when 60 degrees or under there is a lot of hand sting and the bat seems pretty dead
by Retired Little Leaguer - May 05, 2012
Pros: Quality feel to grip. Little to no shock even when mis-hit. Generous sweet spot. I bought this bat for my son, and he loves it because it has only stung his hands once. Very nicely built.
Cons: Now, almost his entire team uses this "magic" bat, so it is getting a workout. I see balls flying farther for many of these kids.
by Andrew - May 07, 2012
Pros: Great bat! great pop and good duribility. I hit my first homerun with this bat. for thoes players who dont like any ring this is the bat for you! The composite is great!
Cons: none
by Coach Josh - Oct 10, 2011
Pros: Light weight with great pop out of the box.
Cons: Barrel was dented and rippled all over in one month of light use as back-up bat. The company was very helpful with assist on manufacturers return/replacement and then exchange for similar style Louisville Slugger model. Would recomment L.S. half-n-half models for greater durability. 10yr old son has been swinging L.S. Omaha Stiff all season with no dents.
by james - Mar 30, 2012

How does the Easton Convert compare to the Nike CX2. Both seem to be getting good reviews and is the newer Nike bat worth the extra $100. I was also wondering if one bat provided more pop or power over the other one --thank you
Asked by Mike on Apr 09, 2012
The Easton Convert and the Nike CX2 are very different bats. The Convert is a two piece hybrid design, meaning it has a composite handle with an alloy barrel. The Nike CX2 is a two piece full composite bat. Composite bats go through a more labor intensive process when being made, which accounts for the higher price. These bats will also perform the more you use them over time and will give you more pop due to the trampoline effect the material makes.

My son is small and is using the omen 28/16 and I believe he is not getting enough bat speed. Can the convert help with this? He is a contact hitter, no power at all
Asked by Cary on Apr 09, 2012
In my opinion, the Convert has similar balance and feel to the Omen. I don't think that by getting him the same size bat in the Convert would be that beneficial. I would recommend one of Easton's new Speed Series bats like the S1, S2 or S3. All of these bats are designed with lower swing weights to help players looking to improve bat speed.

Will this bat require the hitter to rotate the bat durring a break in period?
Asked by mrr9825 on Apr 04, 2012
This bat actually doesn't require any kind of break in. Since it has an alloy barrel it is hot right out of the wrapper. Only composite barrel bats require a break in.
