Pros: Everything, great bat. My son has used it now for three weeks and no problems with denting, scratching, grip, end cap, etc... His whole travel team wants to hit with this bat. My son says, "the grip is great & BARREL IS MASSIVE!!" Also, "no sting at all, even if you hit the ball just above the handle or off the tip." We both are very please with this purchase. EASTON IS BACK!!!

Cons: None whatsoever.

Ask Question

26391

Does this bat have a big barrel?

The Easton Rival XXL has a barrel diameter of 2 3/4 inches. It is classified as a big barrel bat.

26378

What is the big difference between a Rival and a Surge? Is this bat legal for Little League?

The Easton Rival XXL is a one-piece all alloy bat. The Easton Surge is a two-piece bat with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. The Easton Surge will have more flex than the Easton Rival.

25813

Is this bat leagal for Cal Ripken travel ball?

The Cal Ripken division does not allow bats with barrels bigger than 2 1/4 inches in diameter. The BG11XL is a big barrel bat and would not be legal.

25057

is this bat BBCOR? our leaguee just changed rules so we can only use BBCOR

The Easton Rival XXL BG11XL is not BBCOR approved, to be BBCOR approved bat must have a -3 length to weight ratio

24158

Is this bat approved by Little League 2012?

The BG11XL is an alloy bat and is approved for Little League.

24063

My son will be at the 15U USA Baseball Championships in Florida. A bat must be a BBCOR or a BESR non-composite bat. What are the best bats in this category?

Some of our best selling BBCOR bats are any of Easton's Power Brigade line (S series or XL series), the Marucci Black, the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo, or the 2012 Louisville Slugger Omaha. Depending on what type of hitter your son is, all of these will be great bats to consider.

23602

Does it have the USSSA stamp?

The Easton Rival XXL: BG11XL does have the USSSA stamp. If you look at the small pictures on this webpage you will be able to see the stamp etched into this bat.

23587

Is it BBCOR?

This bat is not BBCOR approved. Only adult -3 bats will carry that certification. If you are looking for the BBCOR approved model, it can be found here: http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-rival-bbcor--bg2-adult/13061/.

23571

Is Easton Rival and DeMarini Vexxum certified for USSSA and BBCOR?

No one bat will have the USSSA certification and be BBCOR approved. Only adult -3 bats will carry the BBCOR certification mark and senior league bats will never have that certification. The same goes for adult bats not having the USSSA stamp on them. There are models of the Rival and the Vexxum that have these certifications, but there will be two separate models for each certification.

22667

My son is 12 and needs a bat with BPF 1.15 stamp. Is this a good choice?

The Easton Rival XXL: BG11XL has the BPF 1.15 stamp. It would be an excellent choice for a twelve year old.

22255

is this bat a new bbcor licensed bat.

The BG11XL is certified for play in the USSSA leagues. Only the -3 bats that are used in High School and College feature the BBCOR certification. Here is a link to all the bats that feature the BBCOR certification. http://www.justbats.com/products/?s=bbcor

21755

my son is 8 and is in coach pitch now but will be in kid pitch next year, he is a good contact hitter is this the bat for him or will it be to big?

For your average 8 year old, I would recommend a 28 or 29 inch bat with a weight between 16 and 19 ounces. Based on the sizes we have in stock for the BG11XL, I would say it's a little too big.

19805

Is this bat legal for thirteen year old Babe Ruth?

This bat would not be legal for use in a 13 year old Babe Ruth league. Rules for that league state the barrel diameter must not exceed 2 5/8 inches, and this one does. The Easton Rival model that would be legal for use in your league can be found here: http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-rival-xxl--bd11xl-senior-league/13071/

19496

is this bat bbcor certified?

No. Senior League bats like this one are not eligible for the BBCOR certification. BBCOR only applies to Adult baseball bats.

17402

will you be getting this bat in a 30in 21oz?

The Rival has been discontinued and replaced by the XL3 and S3. We will not be getting any more Rivals in stock.

16776

Is this bat considered a BBCOR certified bat?

No this bat is not BBCOR certified. It meets all USSSA certifications but is not BBCOR and thus not legal for the high school level and above.

16601

Do you have to rotate the bat after every at bat or hit?

I always recommend doing that no matter what type of bat you're using. This will help ensure that not all the wear and tear occurs in the same side of the bat.

15882

Could i use this on a 12u travel team in Illinois for 2012

Every league has different rules. We suggest you contact your local league official for clarification.

15242

does this bat meet Youth League baseball bat requirements

This bat has a 2 3/4" barrel. If you are playing youth baseball and seing 2 1/4", then no, this bat would not meet youth league requirements

15208

Where are you located?

We are located in Kansas City, Missouri.

15035

The picture shows the usssa thumb print stamp on the taper but you state it does not have the stamp that some leagues require. Does this bat have the 2012 usssa thumb print as shown in the far right picture of the alternate pics?

This bat now has the USSSA stamp. Disregard other answers.

14985

what is the difference in b a 2 3/4 and 2 5/8. first time buying a bib barrell bat.

The barrel size is the only difference. The 2 3/4 barrels tend to have a little bigger sweet spot.

13350

I purchased one of these bats from another site and it it does not have the stamp on it. If this does on the Just bats site but mine does not, does it still mean mine is legal?

If your bat doesn't have the USSSA stamp then it will not be legal. All of the Rival's we have in stock have the USSSA stamp.

13236

I don't see the stamp for BPf 1.15 standard? Can Easton put the stamp on there? My son plays 11U travel and has to have the stamp!

The bats we have in stock do have the stamps. They will be located right about the grip.

13131

Does this bat qualify for middle school ball in Georgia

Since all schools have different rulings. My suggestion would be to check with your middle school coach. Because some middle schools must abide by high school rules, and if that is the case where you are, this bat will not be legal.

13010

Is this bat allowed in travel leagues and middle school ball and is it composite?

This glove will be legal for most travel ball leagues, it is not a composite bat

13008

Does this bat come in 29 inch size.

We do not have the 29" size in stock, this is an older model so we will not be getting any more in

12925

is the usssa stamp put on in a way that it wont be worn off with hitting

Yes, the rival has the stamp engraved on the bat

12908

There is no consistency to your answers for these 2 bats. Are they USSSA certified for 14U with the new stamp (no grandfathering) and are they alloy? Some of your responses are that they're composite. Other responses are that they carry an older stamp and cannot be used in 2013. Once and for all - what is the true story on this bat and the Demarini offered in this bat package?

First, as to the the question regarding the USSSA stamp. Unfortunately, many manufacturers already had their bats on the shelves, when the ruling for the marking was handed down, so some do not have the mark, but are legal which is why some with the old markings are being grandfathered in. Most of those have been dealt with already. The ones we have on our shelves DO have the marking, it is on the black part of the handle and kind of faint to see, but is definitely there. Second, as to what this bat is made of, this Rival is 100% alloy, there is NO composite materials in it at all. I hope that clarifies things for you.

12871

We've purchased this bat from you and my son wants to go to the batting cages. That means rubber coated baseballs instead of real ones. What are your recommendations as to whether or not to use this in the cages?

All alloy bats can handle those batting cage balls better than alloy. But even then, if he uses it in games, I would be cautious with it in the cages. Those rubber balls are compressed so much they are actually very hard on bats, expecially composite bats.

12616

The 2012 USSSA rules state that bats must "have the New USSSA Mark prominently and permanently displayed on their taper". While the mark on this bat is permanent it is not very "prominent". Is it still legal?

Yes, this bat is still legal

12540

Where is the 1.15 Stamp?

The stamp should close to the E on Easton on the taper. It will be engraved on the bat and is tough to see without good lighting.

12531

As per several of the questions preceeding mine, there is NOT a USSA stamp on this bat. I purchased this unit based on your specs which emphasised that a stamp was present. I do not want to enter play and be challenged on it's specs.

When the ruling came down on the USSSA official stamp, the manufacturers already had many of their products already on the shelves with the previous requirements met. If the bat you have has the old stamp, which is more just wording, not a watermark stamp. They are being grandfathered in for 1 yr, in 2013 all bats will require the official stamp. With this bat particularly, the ones that do have the official stamp, the stamp was done on the black part of the bat which makes it hard to see. If you need more info, just give us a call and we can explain it in more detail.

10857

So the USSSA stamp makes it legal for USSSA tourney play at 12u... but is it legal for Pony play at 12u?

Pony League doesn't allow 2 3/4 inch barrels. This would only be allowed in USSSA.

10771

In comparing the Rival bats, what is the difference between "BD" and "BG" models

The BG models are going to be the 2 3/4" models while the BD is the 2 5/8" models.

10767

Is this approved for USABL?????

Everything I have been reading states that the barrel of the bat may not be bigger than 2 5/8". This is a 2 3/4" barrel bat and may not be approved. Double check with your league to verify.

10430

Does this bat come in smaller sizes...like 27/17, etc??

Yes. However, the Rival is being replaced by the S3 so we will not be getting anymore Rivals in stock.

10180

IS this a BBCORE bat?

No. This is a Senior League bat and is not BBCOR certified. Only Adult baseball bats are required to meet the BBCOR standard. For BBCOR bats, go to our website and click the "Adult Bats" link for BBCOR bats.

10142

Is it US made ?

The Easton Rival is made in China.

8622

about how many cuts does it take 2 dent?

Unfortunately, there's not a set number of swings that determines the time in which a bat will dent. I've heard from customers who have used the Rival for well over 500 hits with no issues.

8602

Looking for Easton BV15XL , 2 3/4 ,-9 . Similar to BG11xl. what are the differences between the 2 and will you carry BV15XL? We have one now but need to upgrade to USSSA. Thanks

The BV15XL has been discontinued by Easton and replaced with the BG11XL. The only difference is the BG11XL features an upgraded alloy for better durability and performance. Other than that, both bats are the same.

8519

Is this rival better than the -10 blue rival that is a big barrel?

It is the exact same bat. The only difference is the drop.

8325

Need to know if this bat is composite, because of my son plays in a league that it's not allowed.

This bat is 100% alloy and contains no composite.

7803

is this bbcor approved

This bat is not going to BBCOR approved. In order to be BBCOR approved a bat will have to be a -3 length to weight ratio and stamped BBCOR.

No. Only adult bats are required to meet the BBCOR certification. This is a youth big barrel (Senior League) bat that is not governed by the BBCOR standard.

7471

is this bat bbcor?

This is not a BBCOR bat. All BBCOR bats will be a -3 adult bat and it will have the BBCOR stamp on the bat and say that it is BBCOR certified in the description.

6168

can i use this bat in senior league/baberuth league?

As far as we know this bat would be legal, but I would double check with your coach to verify if they allow 2 3/4" barrels.

4785

is the new rival xxl better than the older one?

It depends on who you aska and what their idea of "better" is. The new Rivals are made with a stronger alloy and a slightly longer barrel. The old Rivals may have been just a little better performing through. However, I've heard a lot of player say that they think both are on the same level in terms of performance.

3938

The picture of the bat has the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp on it. So it is legal for next year correct?

Yes. It has the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp on the barrel. It is legal under USSSA new standards.

2432

Does it meet the 1.15 BPF standard?

This bat does meet the BPF 1.15 standard.
