New for 2012! This bat features the USSSA 1.15 stamp and is legal for use in 2012! Easton truly believes that every player should have the opportunity to hit for power. However, the road to power hitting is different for every player. Some players need extra bat speed to reach their full power potential, while others need more weight and a bigger barrel. That's why Easton is changing the game this season and taking an approach to bats that no other manufacturer has ever tried before. Introducing the POWER Brigade; Two series, one distinct result. Whether you prefer the fast swinging Speed Series or the heavier extended barrel XL Series, POWER will be your outcome. Forget flashy designs and gimmicky names, these bats produce RESULTS. The Speed Series (S1, S2, S3) features the lowest Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) on the market to create light swing weights and generate more power. On the other side of the spectrum, the XL Series (XL1, XL2, XL3) features extra long barrels designed to give players expanded hitting zones and more mass in the barrel, generating more power in every swing. Easton really does strive to fulfill the preferences of any type of player as both series come in two-piece IMX Composite designs (S1 and XL1), two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Aluminum hybrid designs (S2 and XL2), and one-piece THT100 Aluminum designs (S3 and XL3). As for the materials, Easton's patented IMX Composite has proven to be one of the highest performing materials in the game year after year, while THT100 Aluminum provides superior dent and crack resistance. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology and you have a new line of bats that is second to none. Easton: We Believe In Power! This bat features the USSSA 1.15 stamp and is approved for play in 2012. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Ask QuestionMy Son is 11 he is currently swinging the Easton Rival, How does the Easton S2 compare to the Rival?
Asked by Jabo12 on May 15, 2012
The main difference between the Easton Rival and the Easton S2 is the Easton Rival is a one-piece fully aluminum design, whereas the Easton S2 is a two-piece hybrid design (composite handle/aluminum barrel).
Tom Expert · May 15, 2012
I'm thinking of getting either the S2 or S3. Which Is better? He is a power hitter but he needs bat speed so I'm thinking which bat is better.
Asked by BallBusters Mom 24 on Mar 30, 2012
Power hitters normally prefer a one piece bat like the S3. The Easton Speed Series is excellent for players who need bat speed.
Kara Expert · Mar 30, 2012
My 11y/o son is swinging a DeMarini CF5 31"21oz. He's a strong kids but a little slower bat speed. would the S2 help with quicker bat speed compared to the CF5? Also is it worth it?
Asked by Stimpy on Mar 16, 2012
The S1, S2 or S3 would all have lighter swing weights, great for players looking to improve swing speed. The S1 is most comparable to the CF5 as it is also a two-piece composite bat. I think any of those bats would benefit your son.

Is this bat legal for babe ruth/cal ripken 13-15 years old?
Asked by Eel River on Mar 15, 2012
This bat is legal for use in a 13-15 year old Babe Ruth Division. It does not exceed the barrel diameter limit and has an alloy barrel, so it does not need to be BBCOR certified. Since rules do change from league to league, I would suggest to check with your coach or leagues official just to make sure though.
Jennifer Expert · Mar 15, 2012
This bat is legal in the 13-15 year old division within Babe Ruth baseball. It is not legal in the Cal Ripken Division though. The Cal Ripken Division is for younger players and they have a barrel size limit of 2 1/4 inches

Does the S2 Easton -10 bat have a break in period?
Asked by Brian on Mar 15, 2012
This bat will not require a break in period because it has an alloy barrel. This bat will be hot right out of the wrapper!
John Expert · Mar 15, 2012
The other day I was at All Out Baseball and I asked the guy about the S2 and he showed me a BBCOR S2 and the barrel was able to spin around. Is this one any better?
Asked by dpain on Mar 14, 2012
The barrel on this bat is not supposed to spin or move. The bats that we have here do not do that. It will come with a 12 month manufacturers warranty, so if something like that were to happen, it would be covered under that warranty.
Jennifer Expert · Mar 14, 2012
does the bat get messed up if it is used in the cold
Asked by 12345 on Mar 04, 2012
This bat is a half and half contruction, with the barrel being alloy. The composite material is what you would need to worry about in the lower temperatures, because they do have issues with cracking when you begin playing in 50 degree and under temperatures. The alloy barrel is what you would want to be using. Here is the link to the SL11S210 to view more features on this bat. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s2--sl11s210-senior-league/14522/

Between the s2 and the s3 which one has a longer barrel and sweet spot?
Asked by d pain on Mar 02, 2012
The S2 and S3 are very similar, they share the same barrels. The difference between these two bats is in handles. The S2 is a two piece bat with a composite handle and the S3 is a one piece all alloy bat.
Kris Expert · Mar 02, 2012

Is the s2 very good for a power hitter or not?
Asked by ScottD on Feb 22, 2012
The S2 is a good bat for any player looking to increase their bat speed.
Tyler Expert · Feb 22, 2012
I can't decide between the s2 and the s3 which one do you think is the better choice?
Asked by ScottyD on Feb 22, 2012
This depends on what kind of hitter you are. The S2 is a two piece bat, which is a great choice for contact hitters. Contact hitters prefer two piece bats, because of the whip-like effect the two piece design gives the ball is hit. The S3 is a one piece alloy bat, which is great for power hitters. Power hitters tend to prefer one piece designs since they are very stiff and help generate power.
Jennifer Expert · Feb 22, 2012
Why does the s2 have a composite handle what does that do for the bat if the barrel is alloy?
Asked by SeanEcll on Feb 22, 2012
The composite handle will give the bat flex. An alloy bat is going to be much stiffer.
KB Expert · Feb 22, 2012
Which one of the s-series is better I'm looking at the S2?
Asked by beto3 on Feb 21, 2012
The S1 is their top of the line as it is all composite. The S2 is just behind the S1 and has an alloy barrel with a composite handle. The S3 is just behind the S2 and is one-piece all alloy.
Tyler Expert · Feb 21, 2012
The S1 is a two piece full composite, the S2 is a two piece with an alloy barrel and composite handle, and the S3 is a one piece full alloy bat.
Brad Expert · Feb 21, 2012
I AM COMPARING THE S2 AND THE DEMARINI VEXXUM. WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES??
Asked by REBEL 13 on Feb 20, 2012
The S2 will have a slightly lower MOI than the Vexxum. A lower MOI means a ligher swing weight for the player.
Tyler Expert · Feb 20, 2012
Should you take batting practice with dimpled balls and does this hurt the bat?
Asked by little man on Feb 19, 2012
The dimpled cage balls can be very destructive to composite and aluminum bats. Some players keep an extra bat on hand to only use in the cages, an older bat or one that you do not mind damaging.
Shelbe Expert · Feb 19, 2012
My last bat was a Rival 32/22. I loved the pop but dented way to easy. Now that it is illegal this year, I am debating on whether to buy the S2 or S3. Besides prices, are there any key things I should know? I'm 5'6, 130 pounds, usally bat third or fourth.
Asked by Seminoles13 on Feb 17, 2012
The Easton S3 is the model that is replacing the Rival. The S3 is a one piece alloy like the Rival, whereas the S2 is a two piece bat with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. The S3 is going to be pretty durable and will perform very similarly to the Rival.
Jennifer Expert · Feb 17, 2012
i just bought a s1 31/21 kinda dissapointed in long balls,my son is 10,very big at 5ft 5 130lbs,gets alot of singles but not much power,he was hitting ball a ton with demarini voodoo, should i buy a 32/22 s2 or buy the marichi 32/24 for power and hitting long balls
Asked by bill on Feb 03, 2012
All three bats are two piece bats and are going to peform similar to each other. The S2 is going be the lightest and best for a quick bat speed.
KB Expert · Feb 03, 2012
At what point to does it make sense to up a bat size? (as in if your swing speed decreases by only 4mph, does it make sense to go up a bat size?)
Asked by Rome Home on Jan 29, 2012
There are a couple of factors that determine if a player should increase the size of the bat. If they already have good bat speed that is one reason to go up a size. The size will also depend on the height and weight of the player.
Kara Expert · Jan 30, 2012
Debating whether to purchase S3 vs S2. Does the S2 have an advantage over the S3 besides the difference in price?
Asked by vs on Jan 27, 2012
The S2 is going to be a two-piece bat. This will allow for more flex in the bat.
Ryan Expert · Jan 27, 2012
Which bat should I buy? The EXOGRID 2 or the S2? I really don't know what to choose since they're both comp/alloy bats.
Asked by Eduardo on Jan 26, 2012
They have both been really popular this year. I would say they differ in that the Exogrid is stiffer than the S2. But either of these would be good choices.
Shelbe Expert · Jan 26, 2012
Is there a break-in period on the S2 ? If so how long ?
Asked by TJ on Jan 17, 2012
No, there is no break in period since the S2 is an alloy barrel bat.
John Expert · Jan 17, 2012
My son hits for both average and power. He has been swinging a Combat B2 but also has an old Easton SV12 he likes a lot. We are looking for a USSSA legal bat for 2012. Would the S2 be comparable to the SV12? Are we better off with the Combat B3 if he did well with the B2?
Asked by cowboyscoach on Jan 17, 2012
Personally, I would stay with the B3, if he was doing really well with it.
Linda Expert · Jan 17, 2012
How does this bat compare with the senior league Omen, my son likes both bats, he is 13 , contact hitter.
Asked by Slats on Jan 06, 2012
this bat is going to feel quite a bit different than the omen because of the different material, both will have a good amount of pop to them, the S2 will be more balanced than the Omen
Sean Expert · Jan 07, 2012
Two questions: (1) I know this is replacing the Surge, but wanted to confirm there no truly no difference, other than paint? Specs seem to indicate they are the same bat and should perform the same. (2) Unless player had strong preference for feel of two-piece hybrid over all-alloy, would S3 with 2 3/4" barrel be better option in league where 2 3/4" barrels are allowed? With same weight and same alloy barrels, seems like the 2 3/4 size would be an advantage (but only available in one piece alloys). Thanks.
Asked by MM on Jan 03, 2012
The S2 will have a lower MOI than the Surge. MOI refers to the amount of energy it takes to swing a bat, so the S2 will have a lighter swing weight than the Surge. Other than that there really isn't a ton of differences. I always say if you can use a 2 3/4" bat, then go for it. It will provide more surface area for the player to make contact. The S3 will still feel great to swing and if the player doesn't have a strong preference for the construction of the bat, I strongly consider the 2 3/4" bat.
TJ Expert · Jan 04, 2012
Is the barrel composite or just the handle is composite.
Asked by NC baseball on Dec 12, 2011
Just the handle on this one is composite.

My son is playing 9U and is small..55 lbs. He is not a power hitter, but puts the ball in play consistently...which bat is best for him.
Asked by mom2boys on Dec 09, 2011
The S2 would be a great choice for a contact hitter.
Kara Expert · Dec 09, 2011
What is the difference between the S2 and S3?

I'm torn between the Easton S2 big barrel and the Loisville Slugger Vertex 2-1/4 barrel...can you help with comparing these two?
Asked by Wallrus on Dec 02, 2011
It is really going to depend on the size and age of the player. The S2 is going to be heavier because it is a 2 5/8 inch barrel with a -10 drop. And the Vertex is a 2 1/4 inch barrel with a drop -13.
