Pros: I purchased a 31" XL1 for my son and the barrel of this bat is as big as the barrel on my daughters 31" softball bat. My son is hitting the cover off the ball with the XL1 and has newly found power to the opposite field. I was never a big believer in bat technology making a huge difference, but there is no doubt in my mind that this bat is making a difference.

New for 2012! Easton truly believes that every player should have the opportunity to hit for power. However, the road to power hitting is different for every player. Some players need extra bat speed to reach their full power potential, while others need more weight and a bigger barrel. That's why Easton is changing the game this season and taking an approach to bats that no other manufacturer has ever tried before. Introducing the POWER Brigade; Two series, one distinct result. Whether you prefer the fast swinging Speed Series or the heavier extended barrel XL Series, POWER will be your outcome. Forget flashy designs and gimmicky names, these bats produce RESULTS. The Speed Series (S1, S2, S3) features the lowest Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) on the market to create light swing weights and generate more power. On the other side of the spectrum, the XL Series (XL1, XL2, XL3) features extra long barrels designed to give players expanded hitting zones and more mass in the barrel, generating more power in every swing. Easton really does strive to fulfill the preferences of any type of player as both series come in two-piece IMX Composite designs (S1 and XL1), two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Aluminum hybrid designs (S2 and XL2), and one-piece THT100 Aluminum designs (S3 and XL3). As for the materials, Easton's patented IMX Composite has proven to be one of the highest performing materials in the game year after year, while THT100 Aluminum provides superior dent and crack resistance. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology and you have a new line of bats that is second to none. Easton: We Believe In Power! This bat is approved for play in all major youth associations. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

by Elk Grove McClatchy Lion - Oct 20, 2011
Pros: Purchased a 31" for my son. It has incredible pop out of the wrapper. The ball pierces through the air when hit on the sweet spot. Also, the low gloss silver looks great. By far better than all previous combats and mikens I've purchased. This bat exceeded my expectations,a rare occurrence.
Cons: Not really a negative, but the 31" XL1 might be a little heavy for smaller players. My son is 5'1" at 10 years old and swings it great.
by JoeyBats - Mar 26, 2012
Pros: Great for hitting the bal in the air. In my first game, I hid a home run and had three doubles. Currently, I am leading the league in everything and havent't gotten outin 7 straight games(I'm still in Little League) but this bat is plain BEAST
Cons: None, ecspesialy after you break it in.
by ThebombTravis - Mar 29, 2012
Pros: Against my better judgement of paying so much for a baseball bat I purchased the Easton XL1, I must say it was not a mistake !! at my sons first practice he hit 2 over the fence and 2 hit the fence in the air , at his second team practice he hit 4 over the fence ! this bat makes the ball really travel without alot of effort , as his Dad I'm very impressed with his performance with this new bat . I don't regret pay the price it's worth every penny just seeing the look on my sons face when that ball goes over the fence !
Cons: None in my opinion
by will - Mar 16, 2012
Pros: this bat has great pop and a massive sweet spot. Its easy to swing and the grip of the bat is awesome.
Cons: there is some sting but if you get batting gloves, it's fine
by cdog - Apr 04, 2012
Pros: I had just bought this bat, and went into my backyard and started hittin baseballs with the plastic wrapper on the bat, with the unbeliveable pop this bat has, the plastic wrapper was torn up within minutes, im a small kid and i shouldn't be swinging a bat this end-heavy for my size[4ft nine and 75 lbs] but the pop out of this bat completely makes up for it, if you or your son is a larger child with more power, they will be pounding the ball, trust me.
Cons: Such a long barrel its going to be hard to lay off way outside pitches, longer than combats, i measured!
by Chucka808 - Sep 22, 2011
Pros: Huge sweet spot. My son loves this bat. He was using B4 but hasn't touched it since this bat arrived.
Cons:

Pros: Unbelieveaable Pop. Got this bat for my 10 year old son for his birthday. Season just started and he has hit rockets so far. Now the entire team is using this bat. Very well balanced.
Cons:
by Roughneck - Mar 29, 2012
Pros: bought the 29/19 for my son and he loves it. The ball comes off of it very solid. The sound is like what a composite bat sounds like. He hits them in the outfield a lot with this bat.
Cons: none to date.
by Mau Mau - Apr 02, 2012
Pros: Great bat! Great sweet spot... My son hit his first Bomb to right field using the XL1....30-20oz.. maybe a little heavier for his size. The pitching he is facing in the LL Major division as a 10U player, he is sure holding his own. Many travel players on his team are using the bat and all of them love it. Thank's Easton
Cons:
by Akadema3 - Apr 08, 2012
Pros: Good feel and hitting , big sweet spot I'm probably more of a contact hitter but this bat is great
Cons: No problems but it needs to be broken in since it's composite
by JF - Apr 10, 2012
Pros: This bat looks great and has incredible pop, with huge sweet spot. It"S a little heavy
Cons: it"s a heavy bat
by kono - Apr 11, 2012
Pros: Excellent bat with a lot of pop. If you can handle the weight you will not be dissapointed.
Cons: I would not recommend this bat to a smaller/weaker player becuase the bat is heavy.
by The bat doc. - Apr 12, 2012
Pros: My son has always swung a Combat, he's 10 years old. we wanted to try sumthing different this year and went with the Easton XL1 32 22, the bat came in yesterday and we went straight to the cages< man was i surprise, it was hot out of the plastic. Great bat!!!! dnt see myself going back.
Cons: LOL what cons!!!!!!!!!
by Kai - Apr 16, 2012
Pros: My son loves the bat and he is crushing the ball. He has 3 HR's in 2 games. This bat had instant pop. Everyone on the team is using the 31 or 32.
Cons: everyone wants to borrow the bat!
by 5464 - Apr 18, 2012
Pros: really good pop i am hitting the ball like never before i have hit 4 homeruns already and the season has just started....has really good grip and is a 2 piece fully composite bat
Cons: really no cons but the sticker on the top fell off of mine the 1st day i got it
by Jackson - Apr 30, 2012
Pros: Recently purchased a 31" XL1 for my 12 year old son. When I presented it to him, he was going into the cage prior to his second game of the season. He came out saying "This bat is popping dad!". During the game that followed he batted 4 for 4, a double short of the cycle, going yard on his 4th attempt. The triple was smacked solidly into the left field corner. The bat rocks & has a tremendous sweet spot!
Cons:
by ryan - May 01, 2012
Pros: tons and tons of pop no joke, you have to give this bat the neccesary break in time, that is why there is no pop, people you bought a composite bat you have to break it in.
Cons: paint chips just a little
by tony - May 03, 2012
Pros: great bat
Cons: zero
by Mike - May 03, 2012
Pros: Nice Looking, good grip...meets little league requirements.
Cons: Not sure if it needs some break-in time, but doesn't seem to have the "pop" i thought it would yet.
by The boss - May 09, 2012
Pros: Amazing bat!i love it I hit my farthest homerun ever with the xl1.it was around 300 feet and I'm 11.i hit the ball so hard with this bat. I love it. I would highly recommend this bat.

by animal - May 20, 2012
Pros: Awsome bat. Purchased for my 9yr old. Hes a big kid for 9yrs old. Most bats are to light for his fast swing. Thought id give the xL 1 a try. I got the 21 oz 31 inch. great pop to start with .But has really come around as the games go on. last week he hit 3 triples,in which 2 hit the 210ft fence, Next game he cleared the fence. What a shot. If your youngster is strong enough to swing this bat. Sit back and watch him trot the bases. This bat will give him the ride of his life.
Cons: Heavy ended. Better be quik to the ball,or the long ball will turn into a strike out.
by Dave OB - Dec 22, 2011
Pros: The 1st time I swung this bat I was hooked, line and sinker.... My son LOVES IT! BEST BAT EVER!
Cons: The speed series has a better balence because the extra 2 oz's are placed at the end but the extra power more then makes up for that! So really NO CONS!
by hugh - Jan 26, 2012
Pros: great power and pop easy to break in all around great bat
Cons:
by mo - Jan 30, 2012
Pros: awesome look good wieght and power
Cons: none:)
by Kelly808 - Feb 02, 2012
Pros: Very long barrel! Amazing pop off the bat. End loaded so bat feels an ounce or two heavier than the given weight. Can't wait to see my son kill some balls this coming season!
Cons: none so far
by Christian - Feb 10, 2012
Pros: It's a heavy bat, but if your son could swing the -10 Omen, he'll be able to swing this one as well. Great sound on contact. Kids love the graphics.
Cons:
by ksduckfan - Apr 29, 2012
Pros: Great Bat. Definitely hitting the ball harder and longer. The sound the bat and ball makes on contact has everyone excited. Sounds like a wood bat.
Cons: Takes some getting used to. I didn't realize it wasn't a "large" barrel youth bat like everyone else on the team has.
by Coach Rob - Jan 10, 2012
Pros: Huge sweet spot. -That says it all!
Cons: if there was a -12 with same size sweet spot it would be the ultimate LL bat!
by DR - Mar 14, 2012
Pros: Bat is heavy for youth players under 10 years old.
Cons:
by ryan - Jan 07, 2012
Pros: got this bat for christmas, great very good, great pop little to no vibration great bat
Cons: long break in time
by roadster - Apr 26, 2012
Pros:
Cons: terrible bat one of the worst. in my opinion worse than easton reflex. has no pop and barrel very small. whoever is reading this should x out page. horrible bat!
by Hook - Mar 23, 2012
Pros: I played pro minor league baseball for a few years and have coached little league for over 15 years now. I purchased this bat for my 12 year old son. The bat is weighted very nicely and has a tacky grip. My son likes the feel of the bat.
Cons: The end cap loosened on the first day we used the bat. My son uses a wooden bat during our fall season. He hits the ball further with the wood bat than this bat. There is very little noticeable difference in the amount of pop and distance this bat is supposed to provide. We chose this bat over the CF5 based on the reviews of this bat. We tried a CF5 the other day and it blows this bat out of the water. The CF5 has tons of pop compared to the Easton XL1. Maybe we received a bad bat. At this point I would recommend the CF5.

I have a 7 year old first year kid pitch. I've been hearing a lot of good things about this bat. He has been training with the Maurichi CU26 wood and swinging TPX Omaha in games. They're both 27, wood being heavier, but he swings it very well. Is this 28/18 a good option for my son?
Asked by WolfPack on May 17, 2012
The Easton XL1 is slightly end loaded, and would be a great choice for a player with bat speed and power. However, because it is end loaded, we recommend a 27/17.

My Son is 11 5'1 weighs about 90 lbs would you recommend a 31x21 XL or a 30x20 S1? Is there a huge difference
Asked by G on May 06, 2012
Based on your son's height and weight a 30" bat sounds about right for him. There isn't too much of a difference between the sizes, however the XL series will have a slight end loaded feel to it, so it will make the bat feel a little heavier than it actually is. I would probably recommend going with the Easton S1 in a 30" 20 oz.
· May 06, 2012
My son is 4' 10" and weighs 115 pounds. He is a pretty strong boy with a thick build. What size Easton XL1 would you recommend? 29" or 30"?
Asked by Bob on May 06, 2012
Based on your son's height and weight, I would probably suggest going with a 30 inch bat. If you need more help in trying to find the right size of bat for your son, feel free to use our bat coach feature on our website.

My son is a big nine year old boy. He is is not fat, but weighs over 110 pounds. Should I purchase him the Easton XL1 or the Easton S1?
Asked by Big Papa Jr. on May 05, 2012
The Easton XL1 would be a good fit for him if he is able to handle the extra weight in the barrel. It will help produce power, while the S1 is built more for bat speed.

Will this bat be good for Babe Ruth league in 2013?
Asked by Seth on May 05, 2012
Yes this bat will be legal for use in 2013 for Babe Ruth league.

My son used the red Easton Stealth last year which is illegal this year. Which legal bat is most like that Stealth? He bought a Voodoo -13 and is not happy with it . Seems too light and not as much pop as the Stealth. Thank you .
Asked by Dan on May 03, 2012
The Easton XL1 would be the best bat similar to the Easton Stealth. It is slightly end loaded, so it will be heavier than the Voodoo -13.
· May 03, 2012
My son is 11 and weighs 145lbs, currently he bats with a 31" 18oz Voodoo. He hits with power had a couple homeruns with it. I know the Voodoo is a more balanced bat. My question is would the S1 or XL1 be a better choice as a replacement? Thanks for your time.
Asked by brawler on May 01, 2012
The Easton XL1 is an end loaded bat and would be a great choice for a power hitter. If you prefer a balanced bat, the S1 would be a better fit.
· May 01, 2012
What is better, Easton XL1 or COMat B4?
Asked by con on Apr 29, 2012
Both the Easton XL1 and the COMbat B4 are excellent bats with great pop. The XL1 will have more flex and be slightly end loaded. The COMbat B4 will be stiffer and more balanced.
· Apr 30, 2012
What has a longer barrel the combat b4 or the easton xl1
Asked by con on Apr 29, 2012
The Easton XL1 YB11X1 is going to have a longer barrel than the -12 B4 but should have a similar sized barrel compared to the -10 B4. Both are great options with a great amount of pop.
· Apr 29, 2012
is the 32" bat ok for me im 10 almost 11
Asked by coderroy on Apr 29, 2012
Yes, a 32" bat would work fine with a 10-11 year old. The YB11X1 has a lot of pop and a slight end loaded feel.
· Apr 29, 2012
What has a longer barrel and more pop? COMat B4 or Easton XL1?
Asked by Con on Apr 28, 2012
Both the Easton XL1 and the COMbat B4 have great pop. The XL1 has a slightly longer barrel and is a two piece all composite bat. The COMbat B4 will be stiffer because it is a one piece composite bat.
· Apr 29, 2012
How good is this bat? Do you need to be a real strong player to swing this bat good? Is the pop amazing?
Asked by Baseball freak on Apr 28, 2012
The Eaton XL1 uses high quality composite material. It has great pop. It is end loaded, and would be more suited for a power hitter.
· Apr 29, 2012
My son is 10, should he be using this bat for batting practice?
Asked by Aaron512 on Apr 24, 2012
We recommend not to use composite bats in batting cages that use yellow dimpled balls. Regular baseballs will not damage the composite material.
· Apr 24, 2012
I am 11 4'10" 76lb. Which size do you recommend?
Asked by Chris on Apr 19, 2012
Based on your height and weight, I would suggest going with a 30 inch bat. The weight really depends on what you are comfortable swinging and is usually a step or two up from what you are currently swinging. However, most 11 year olds typically swing a -13 to -12 bat, which would mean your bat would weight between 17 and 18 ounces.
· Apr 19, 2012
Which bat has a longer barrel, the Easton XL1 or XL2?
Asked by scott on Apr 19, 2012
The Easton XL1 and XL2 have the same barrel length. They both have an extended barrel design with an enlarged sweet spot.
· Apr 19, 2012
I'm 13, 110 pounds and I can't decide whether to get a Speed Series bat or an XL series bat. Which one would be better?
Asked by hechtor on Apr 19, 2012
The Speed Series and the XL Series are very similar. The main difference between the two is the Speed Series bats are very balanced, while the XL Series bats have an extended barrel, larger sweet spot design that give the bats an end loaded feel. If you are more used to a balanced bat, then I would go with the Speed Series. However, if you are used to an end loaded bat, then the XL Series will be great for you.
· Apr 19, 2012
Hi, is does anyone have any recomendations between this and the Omen?
Asked by dustin on Apr 19, 2012
That all depends on the type of hitter. Both are constructed from the same materials, but the XL1 will be more end-loaded. If you are a stronger hitter with above average swing speed, the XL1 would be a good choice. If you have average swing speed the Omen would be a good option.
· Apr 19, 2012
I am 11 I am pretty skinny.I have very fast hands but I tried the S1 and I don't generate any power with it me. Even if I am not very strong should I considere the XL1 as a good bat for me?
Asked by Chris on Apr 18, 2012
The XL1 will be more endloaded than the S1. However, if you have above average swing speed, the XL1 may be a better option.

Your correct in stating that the XL1 is the new Omen, but with with the technology they have used to design the XL1 has only created more power transfer in the swing. Here is the link to view more details on the XL1. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-xl1--yb11x1-youth/14429/

is the XL1 the replacement for the Easton stealth speed LSS6XL
Asked by PK on Apr 06, 2012
You could say that. The XL1 is a two-piece IMX composite design much like the LSS6XL and is constructed very similarly. The most recent Easton bat to have this design before the XL1 was the Omen.

What do you recommend more, the S1 or XL1 if my 12 year old son is 5 foot 3 and weighs 108 pounds?
Asked by Vince on Apr 06, 2012
If your son is a power hitter, we suggest the XL1 which is slightly end loaded. The S1 is more balanced and better for a player who needs quick bat speed.
· Apr 06, 2012
Bought my son an Omen last year that never seemed to break in. I throw to him all the time and the bat only makes the pop sound that we want to hear maybe 2 out of 10 times. He plays travel ball as well as little league and now he wants a new bat since he is not happy with the Omen. Could we have gotten a bad bat? He wants more power in his hits. He has tried his teammates S1 and likes it but I feel he needs more swings with it. Problem is it's not his bat and people don't want to share their expensive bats too much. Looking at the XL1 as well. He's 12 at about 80 lbs. but very athletic. What do you think?
Asked by Frank on Apr 04, 2012
If you are looking for something similar to the Omen, the Easton S1 is probably going to be the best bet. The Easton S1 is the bat that has replaced the Omen and will perform very well. It is possible you got a dead bat because that is not something that sounds very common among these bats. The XL1 is just about the same bat as the S1, but it has an end loaded feel. The Omen is pretty balanced, so if he prefers that balanced feel, the S1 would probably be better to go with than the XL1.
· Apr 04, 2012
What bat would be better for power, -10 Omen or -10 XL1?
Asked by Jrod on Apr 04, 2012
Both of these bats are great bats. The main difference between the two is the Omen has a more balanced feel and the XL1 has an end loaded feel. Some power hitters prefer the end loaded feel because it can help generate more power. However, if you are not used to an end loaded feel or prefer a balanced bat then the Omen would be a great option as well!
· Apr 04, 2012
My son is 12 years old, 5'6 140 lbs. he's an excellent all around hitter with outstanding power. He has been using the DeMarini Distance for the last two years and now we're looking for a good composite bat that will maximize his power. What Easton model would you recommend?
Asked by Triz on Apr 04, 2012
If your son is used to the feel of an end loaded bat, I would suggest going with the Easton XL3. This bat is designed more for power hitters to help generate even more power and is a great bat. If he is not used to the feel of an end loaded bat, then I would suggest going with the Easton S3. This bat is similar to the XL3, but it is more balanced and does not have the end loaded feel the XL3 does.
· Apr 04, 2012
My son is 9 and 94 lbs 5ft and a great power hitter. He is currenlty using a friends S1 31 -12 he swings fast and is a power hitter. We are looking at getting him the Xl1 as it has more barrel than the other. His hitting coach said to get him a 30 -10 would this be appropriate?
Asked by mak attack on Mar 30, 2012
Based on his height, weight, and the size bat he's been swinging, a 30 inch 20 ounce XL1 would be a great option, and he should have no problem swinging it.
· Mar 30, 2012
My son is 12 5'6" and weighs 120. He has used a 31 Worth Copperhead for the last 3 yrs and he has consistantly hit bombs you can't even read any of the writting on the barrel any longer. We have seen 2 of his team mates absolutely crush the ball with this bat. Would it be a good fit? He uses a 31/21 Gen X 2 3/4 BB in Travel, but the ball seems to fly off the XL1.
Asked by Tony on Mar 29, 2012
If he has been using a Worth Copperhead, then this bat would definitely be a great fit for him! The main thing you might need to consider though, is that the XL1 is going to have an end loaded feel, so it might take some getting used to if he has never used an end loaded bat. If he is more used to balanced bats, I would suggest checking out the Easton S1.

I am 12 years old. I am 5'4 and weigh 160 pounds. I am a power hitter, but I need a bat with more power. Which one would be better for me: The Easton Power Brigade XL1 32/22 youth bat or the COMbat B4 32/22 youth bat?
Asked by Slugger on Mar 24, 2012
Both are great bats. The XL1 is a little more endloaded and may be better suited for a stronger hitter with good swing speed. The B4 is a one piece bat that is also good for a player with good swing speed. But, if you're stronger than average, I may recommend the XL1

My grandson is 12 years old. Would the XL1 youth 31 inches be good in your opinion?
Asked by tena on Mar 08, 2012
The average size for someone of his age is between 30-31 inches. A 31 inch bat could be good for him, but it is also good to factor in his height and weight and not just age. Trying to decide which would be the better bat and size for my son. He is a 6 foot tall 12 year old at 135 pounds. Not an ox, but pretty strong kid. Thinking about the XL1 or the S1. Or is it just personal preference? We were thinking about 32/22 some kind of bat.
Asked by dad 33 on Mar 06, 2012
The XL1 will feel more end-loaded. The S1 will be very balanced. If your son has good strength and above average swing speed, the XL1 would be a good option. If his swing speed is average or below average, I would lean towards the S1.

My son is 12, 5'7 and 130 pounds. He wants to get the 32 22 XL1, but I cant decide if he should get the XL1 or the SL1. He is known to get under the ball sometimes. I am also wondering what weight I should get him.
Asked by Robb on Feb 28, 2012
The XL1 will be end loaded and if he had trouble getting around the zone, then the S1 would be a better choice. It is more balanced and lightweight. We recommend a 32/20 for his height and weight.

Is this bat better or is the 2012 anderson nanotek -10 better?
Asked by harold k on Dec 20, 2011
They are very different bats, so it is hard to compare that way. The XL1 is a 2 piece all composite bat, it has the extended barrel making a huge sweet spot. The Nanotek is a one piece single wall all alloy bat. So they will have a different feel when hit also.

This is a 2 pc all composite, and it has the connection to defuse the sting a bit.
· Dec 05, 2011
My son has quick hands to the ball so no issue with bad speed in that regard. That said, he doesn't always have the strength through the ball to drive it very hard during soft toss (BP pop is much better). Which do you recommend, the XL1, S1, or the new DeMarini (CF5?). Can you please recommend one..... I won't hold it against you if it doesnt work out.
Asked by Rico on Dec 04, 2011
If he has quick hands with above average bat speed, he may benefit from a bat in Easton's XL line. The XL line of bats works well for players who have naturally high swing speeds. Here is a video from Easton about the Brigade Series, which may be beneficial. Copy and paste this link in your browser's URL. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCRV99BrKa0
