Pros: This bat is definitely for the power hitter! Perfect for my older son. I have a Speed series bat for my youngest who still hasn't developed his strength and power yet. This bat swings a bit heavier and the barrel is absolutely huge! Those two things combined = MEGA MEGA HR's!!!
Cons: Not really a con, but go with the Speed Series if you're son isn't real strong.

New for 2012! Easton truly believes that every player should have the opportunity to hit for power. However, the road to power hitting is different for every player. Some players need extra bat speed to reach their full power potential, while others need more weight and a bigger barrel. That's why Easton is changing the game this season and taking an approach to bats that no other manufacturer has ever tried before. Introducing the POWER Brigade; Two series, one distinct result. Whether you prefer the fast swinging Speed Series or the heavier extended barrel XL Series, POWER will be your outcome. Forget flashy designs and gimmicky names, these bats produce RESULTS. The Speed Series (S1, S2, S3) features the lowest Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) on the market to create light swing weights and generate more power. On the other side of the spectrum, the XL Series (XL1, XL2, XL3) features extra long barrels designed to give players expanded hitting zones and more mass in the barrel, generating more power in every swing. Easton really does strive to fulfill the preferences of any type of player as both series come in two-piece IMX Composite designs (S1 and XL1), two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Aluminum hybrid designs (S2 and XL2), and one-piece THT100 Aluminum designs (S3 and XL3). As for the materials, Easton's patented IMX Composite has proven to be one of the highest performing materials in the game year after year, while THT100 Aluminum provides superior dent and crack resistance. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology and you have a new line of bats that is second to none. Easton: We Believe In Power! This bat is approved for play in all major youth associations. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: For the past 2 1/2 seasons my son who's 11 used a 30/20 Combat Grifter. He loved it. We just got the 31/20 XL2 and it's even better (according to him). Larger hitting area and he says same balanced feeling as the Grifter. The bat is solid and he delivers good control with his swing. He's not a big kid BUT he is a power hitter and he drives the ball with this bat!! Far!
Cons: Nothing so far.

Pros: My son and I went to the cages with this (31/20)bat today. Wow did he crank some balls! Who says this is not for a power hitter?1? The bat has a nice balance and loud ping. The barrel has a soft smooth finish which cleaned up nicely. Spring ball here we come!!
Cons: None

Pros: Great Bat! Tried them all and this one for my 8 Year old was just awesome. First at bat put one out! Next at bat...smacked a double. Buy this one...
Cons: Didn't know about it this earlier.

Pros: Excellent Bat. My boy loves how it swings and the pop he gets out of it. He nailed a line drive to the fence for an easy triple in a scrimage. This will be a home run bat for sure. This bat was an upgrade from the Easton Typhoon. Big difference for him as a power hitter. The long Barrel is very nice too.
Cons: Nothing so far.

Pros: awesome look big sweet spot great power love this bat
Cons: NONE :)

Pros: better than the easton's omen. Extended bat barrel which creates some form of comfort for a novice youth hitter.
Cons: The weight at the end of the bat reduces bat speed. Should not be used by hitters looking to increase thier speed!!! Buyer beware

Ask QuestionI'm 12 years old and I'm not sure whether I should get the XL2 or the TPX Vertex. What is the difference?
Asked by scott on Apr 19, 2012
The Easton XL2 will be end loaded and the Louisville Slugger TPX Vertex will be more evenly balanced. The Easton XL2 would be a better choice if you are a power hitter.

What bat of the XL Series will be best for a major power hitter?
Asked by kevin on Apr 19, 2012
All the bats in the XL series will be a little end loaded and are great for power hitters. The XL1 is their top of the line bat.
· Apr 18, 2012
Would you recommend the Speed series or the XL series?
Asked by Hunter on Apr 09, 2012
That all depends on how you like the weight distributed in your bat. Both series have great bats and they will perform pretty similarly. However, the Speed Series was designed more for contact hitters and the bats are very balanced. The XL Series was designed more for power hitters and these bats have an end loaded feel to them. Other than the weight distribution, these bats are just about the same.

I have a 10 yr old son, 5'4" 115 lbs, who currently uses a Relfex and a Typhoon. Which would be better for him a XL1, XL2 or XL1? Thanks.
Asked by SincitySwany on Mar 08, 2012
The XL series will be more end loaded than the Reflex and Typhoon. If he wants a balanced, lightweight one piece bat, the S3 would be the best choice.

Which bat should I get. I'm 11 years old. Should I get a 31/20 XL2 or Marucci CAT 5 31/21?
Asked by BIGSLUGGER on Mar 01, 2012
If you hit more for power, I would suggest going with the CAT 5. The Marucci CAT 5 is a one piece bat that will be pretty stiff and help generate power. If you are more of a contact or gap hitter, I would suggest going with the Easton XL2. The Easton XL2 is a two piece design that is great for contact hitters. Both bats are great choices and you can't really go wrong with either. Without knowing your specific height and weight, it is hard to determine a size that would be perfect for you. My son used an Easton Reflex 29 (-13) last year. He's 8yrs. old 53 in. and 64pds. He has good bat speed, but not sure if I should get him the S1, XL1, or XL2. Also, do you think a 30in. bat would work with his height and weight?
Asked by Alex on Feb 22, 2012
We recommend a 29 inch bat for his weight and height. The XL1 and XL2 are both end loaded bats. If he has good power then the XL2 would be the best bat.

what is the difference between the xl1 and the al2
Asked by KO on Jan 30, 2012
The XL1 is going to be two-piece full composite. The XL2 is going to be a two-piece bat with a composite handle and aluminum alloy barrel
· Jan 30, 2012
I saw that the bat is approved for Babe Ruth 2012, but wanted to know if it has written 1.15 BPF on the barrel. Thank you.
Asked by Jack on Dec 14, 2011
Yes, it has the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp on it.

I'm i power hitter so which would be the best?
Asked by homerun300000000 on Nov 14, 2011
The XL3 would best fit a power hitter. The XL2 is more for contact hitters.
· Nov 15, 2011
easton xl2 and 3 going to be better than the xl1 because i'm thinking of getting the xl1 ,but i'm not sure anymore
Asked by homerun3000000 on Nov 09, 2011
The XL1 is a two piece full composite bat which is similar to the Omen. The Xl2 has an alloy barral and composite handle which is similar to the Surge, and the XL3 is all alloy which is just like the Rival. All three of these bats are very good options, it will just depend on what you like.
