Pros: Bought this for 2012 little league and after 1 month I love it. Great pop, huge sweet spot, and all of the weight is mostly in the handle=great bat speed. I would defiantly recommend this to stronger players

New for 2012! Easton truly believes that every player should have the opportunity to hit for power. However, the road to power hitting is different for every player. Some players need extra bat speed to reach their full power potential, while others need more weight and a bigger barrel. That's why Easton is changing the game this season and taking an approach to bats that no other manufacturer has ever tried before. Introducing the POWER Brigade; Two series, one distinct result. Whether you prefer the fast swinging Speed Series or the heavier extended barrel XL Series, POWER will be your outcome. Forget flashy designs and gimmicky names, these bats produce RESULTS. The Speed Series (S1, S2, S3) features the lowest Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) on the market to create light swing weights and generate more power. On the other side of the spectrum, the XL Series (XL1, XL2, XL3) features extra long barrels designed to give players expanded hitting zones and more mass in the barrel, generating more power in every swing. Easton really does strive to fulfill the preferences of any type of player as both series come in two-piece IMX Composite designs (S1 and XL1), two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Aluminum hybrid designs (S2 and XL2), and one-piece THT100 Aluminum designs (S3 and XL3). As for the materials, Easton's patented IMX Composite has proven to be one of the highest performing materials in the game year after year, while THT100 Aluminum provides superior dent and crack resistance. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology and you have a new line of bats that is second to none. Easton: We Believe In Power! This bat is approved for play in all major youth associations. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Ask QuestionI'm 4'9 80 pounds and im a power hitter what xl bat would you recomend for the most power?
Asked by Cj on May 13, 2012
All the XL bats are great for power hitters. The XL1 is their top of the line model and has great pop.
· May 13, 2012
Would the full composite be a better choice for someone that plays little league and aabc or should i go with the xl3? Also, I am about 4'11'' and 110lbs what size should I go for 30 or 31 inches?
Asked by Jps724 on May 10, 2012
Full composite bats have the tendency to outperform alloy bats. Based on your size, I would recommend a 31 inch model.

is this okay for a first timer in little league
Asked by dordo on Apr 28, 2012
Yes, the YB11X3 is a great bat for a first time player. It has a very long barrel for better contact.

What are the advantages of the XL3 over the Surge?
Asked by DC on Apr 26, 2012
The XL3 has more of an endloaded feel compared to the Surge. If you are a stronger hitter with good swing speed, this is a plus. The XL3 is also a stiffer one piece bat that is often preferred by stronger hitters.

My son was told he needed a 31" 21oz and this bat comes in 31" 20oz or 32" 21oz, which should I buy him?
Asked by Mel on Apr 16, 2012
The Easton XL3 is end loaded and would be better suited for a power hitter. If your son is strong we would recommend the 32" 21oz.

Im 12 years old 5'3" 98 lbs and pretty good power hitter, is this the right bat for me?
Asked by idk on Apr 08, 2012
This bat is a great bat for power hitters. The extended barrel gives you more area to hit the ball and a slight end loaded weight perfect for adding power to your swing.

Is this bat BBCOR?
Asked by mayboy on Apr 08, 2012
This bat is not BBCOR approved. Only adult -3 bats will be BBCOR certified. If you are looking for the adult model that is BBCOR certified, you can find that here: http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-xl3-bbcor--bb11x3-adult/14434/.

I just purchased the XL3 for my son and it makes a really loud "ding sound". Is this normal or will this go away over time as it gets broke in?
Asked by dee on Mar 07, 2012
Since this is an alloy bat, that "ding" sound is normal. This bat does not require a break in, and that sound should be there the whole life of the bat.

Will this bat be exactly like the rival?
Asked by jaho on Feb 11, 2012
The Easton XL3 is going to be the replacement for the Rival. Both bat will feature the THT100 Aluminum design.

i am 12 years old and a good contact hitter. Any ideas on bats that sound good. My bat size is 30 and it cant be a composite
Asked by baseball7 on Jan 07, 2012
I would look at something like a S3 or an XL3, both are full alloy design with a lot of pop
· Jan 08, 2012
Why do you recommend a 31" bat for the poster "Slugging on forever"? He says he's 5'4", 145 lbs, very strong, and power hitter. That seems like he's well within the 32" range to me, not even on the cusp. I'm curious why you said he should still be using a 31". Thanks...
Asked by HelmetHead on Jan 04, 2012
If you go to bat coach on our site and type in his 5'4" and 145lb size, the bat range comes up suggesting a 30-31-32" ranges. Those are just general guidelines, nothing is set in stone, because everyone has their own preferences.

My son is 8 and is a strong power hitter that expects alot of distance out of his swing. He likes a 29 or 30' bat around 19oz. Which xl bat do you suggest for him.
Asked by gripnrip on Dec 28, 2011
I suggest looking at the XL1. That bat has a composite barrel and will give him more power than an alloy barrel bat.
· Dec 28, 2011
My son is ten years old and he weights approximately 65lbs. What new Easton bat would you reccomend out of the XL2, XL3 or S2 or S3? Thanks
Asked by Louie on Dec 17, 2011
It really just depends on if he wants a quicker swing which would be the s2 or the s3 or more pop which would be the XL2 or the XL3
· Dec 17, 2011
I need a bat that DOES NOT have a composite barrel. Some site say all the power birgade bats are composite and some say they have composite and alloy. which power birgade youth bats have an alloy barrel
Asked by mark on Nov 26, 2011
The S2 XL2 S3 and XL3 will all have alloy barrels
· Nov 26, 2011
Now that Easton has came out with the XL2, XL3, S2, and S3 for youth, I can't decide what to get. I am 5 foot 4, almost 12 years old, and weigh 145 lbs. I am extremely strong for my age. I am also definitely a power hitter. What bat would you reccomend for me?
Asked by Slugging on forever on Nov 25, 2011
It really depends on what you have been swing prior to now, but a suggested size for a person your size is about 31 inches. For a power hitter like yourself the XL2 may be the most appropriate due to its stiff construction.
· Nov 26, 2011
Now that Easton came out with the XL2, XL3 I can't decide what to get. I am almost 12 years old about 5 foot 4 and weigh 145 lbs. I am an extremely strong kid. I am a very good power hitter. Would this bat be good for me?
Asked by Sluggingonforever on Nov 24, 2011
If your league requires you to swing a 2 1/4" bat this is an excellent bat. Though with your age, height and weight, you might consider moving to a heavier bat. Especially if you plan on playing in high school, where the mandatory drop weight is a -3.
