Review Summary
based on 14 ratings. 14 user reviews.
The Louisville Slugger Pro Stock Lite Wood Bat Series is made from Northern White Ash which is the most common and dependable wood on the market. This bat has a medium barrel which gives a great hitting zone on the bat. The Pro Cupped end helps to balance the swing weight so you are able to generate a quicker, more powerful swing. This bat has a 15/16 inch handle for a comfortable grip and feel. The Louisville Slugger Pro Stock Lite Wood Bat Series is ideal for high school, college, adult senior league and minor league professional baseball. The advantage of using a wood bat for practice is it allows you to not have to use your high dollar metal bat and save it for games. Pros: I love this bat i hit 13 home runs and knocked in 30 rbi's with this bat in one season
Cons: they tend to break and crack at the barrel
by SJCardinal33 - May 19, 2007
Pros: My overall plate appearances has kept me up in the .300 avg, ever since using my 271 Louis.
Cons: Subject to crack in high speed pitching games, unless you know how to truly use the bat correctly. Otherwise, mines been lasting for already two seasons.

Pros: I was very excited about this bat. It had a lot of "pop" to it and I liked the feel of it.
Cons: This bat broke in half my second time using it. All hits were in the proper hitting area and I have been using a wood bat for quite a while so I know where to hit on the bat.

Pros: Best wood bat I have ever had!!Used this bat for travel team all last year even when in non-wood tournaments. This bat is a classic and feels great in your hands. Hits with a ton of pop if hit correctly. I have 4 of them to keep me covered for tournaments.
Cons: Only bad thing is this bat tends to break fairly easily, but still well worth it !!

All will have an approximate -3 length to weight ratio. However, the 243 has the biggest barrel to handle ratio and will feel just a little heavier than the other two.

When selecting a wooden bat, what material is best? Maple, Ash, Bamboo?
Asked by Sam the Slam on Dec 15, 2011
Depends on who you ask. Maple is harder and thought to be more durable than ash. Ash will be more flexible and the baseball often feels softer at contact. Bamboo is just as durable as maple and performs just as well as the two others. Maple is the most popular followed by Ash then Bamboo. This is because Maple and Ash are the most widely accepted wood bats no matter what league you play in.

What is the approximate weight drop of these bats?
Asked by Andy on Oct 17, 2011
This bat is going to be a -2 to -3 drop. Being that this is a wood bat it will usually vary 1-2 ounces.
