Review Summary
based on 10 ratings. 10 user reviews.
This is the Louisville Slugger Adult Maple professional wood bat. Louisville Slugger uses professional grade, hand-picked Maple to make this bat. The unique grain structure of this wood prevents the barrel from flaking. The M9 Maple is also kiln dried for optimum moisture content. The pro cupped end is ideal for controlling the weight for maximum bat speed and durability. The medium barrel offers one of the best sweet spots possible without compromising durability. Maple Wood bats are a stronger wood than the standard Northern White-Ash models. The strength of the maple bats make them ideal for high school, college, adult, minor leagues, and major leagues. The number of major leaguers using Maple Wood bats has increased each year as their performance and durability have been unmatched. Pros: Bat has a great sweet spot and delivers hit after hit. I liked this bat so much I placed an order for two more.
Cons: Only after several BP's did it explode into pieces.
by GreenDevil - Sep 12, 2011
Pros: Great weight distribution, it feels lighter than it is.
Cons: The way the bat is shaped, it makes it slightly harder to know exactly where your sweet spot begins, not much of an issue.

I bought this bat for my son,he's 16 . First time he used it for BP it broke in half. The break was approx 2.5 in down from where the bat changes to black. The break was clean and perpendicular to the bat.The bat appears to have a defect at the break point, my sons coach had freshly taped the sweet spot so its obvious no hits were outside of the tape. It still had the stickers from the store. Can it be replaced?Should have lasted more than 50 cuts..

Is this the normal size for high schoolers and levels up? 2 1/4 seems kind of small, like little league.
Asked by Baseball on Jan 18, 2012
We have measured several of the bats. The barrel size can differ from bat to bat. However, most of them are closer to 2 1/2 inches.
