Review Summary
based on 17 ratings. 17 user reviews.
This is the Louisville Slugger Youth Maple wood bat. Louisville Slugger uses professional grade, hand-picked Maple to make this bat. The unique grain structure of this wood prevents the barrel from flaking. The M9 Maple is also kiln dried for optimum moisture content. The pro cupped end is ideal for controlling the weight for maximum bat speed and durability. Maple Wood bats are a stronger wood than the standard Northern White Ash models. This bat features a 2 ¼ inch barrel in diameter. This bat is great for practice or games. Many high schools and colleges are now taking batting practice with wood bats and now even the younger kids are doing this too. You can use this bat for practice instead of your high dollar metal bat. Practice with a wood bat has proven to be very beneficial. by Michael V of Staten Island, NY - Oct 31, 2011
Pros: YMCA Little leauge wanted the kids to use a wood bat. No longer using Aluminum Bats. This is a good stong bat. My 10 year old used it first time at bat got a triple. Even an easy swing will give the ball a nice smooth fly. It's a light bat for a maple wood. I guess the material that makes it an Extra Hard wood bat is what does it. I would recomend it.

Pros: My son loves this bat. Solid, durable, great balance. Took BP two days ago and was hitting hard line drives to center.
Cons: None
by NOTURS - Mar 08, 2012
Pros: My son is 7, with small hands. Other reviews stated smaller handle. This one is a good size. Wood is a little heaver but now my son is hitting more center and right field. Nice sound when he really connects.
Cons: Almost got hit twice by ball while pitching to son!!! WoW!!!! Maybe justbats could make a pine-tar/resin bag bonus :-) No cons whatsoever!!!!
