Pros: Got this bat in a 27/17 for my 8 yr old. It has great balance and amazing pop. Used it for only 3 games but hit the fence with bases loaded in one, just missing a home run and hit first home run of his life, oppo over 150 foot fence in last Pinto playoff game. Not using in All Stars as it has 2 3/4 barrel.
Cons: None thus far.
Pros: Good pop,and sounds good..
Cons: My boy is 12 and he has 31" 21oz and after the first 2 tourneys the bat has two flat spots were it dented..
Pros: All I can say is wow, what a sweet spot. Son hit ball to the wall off the handle, not even the barrel. Amazing jump off the bat.
Cons: That it is available to everyone. What an advantage for anyone with this bat.
Pros: my son has used this bat now for a couple of months and I have to say im very pleased with the purchase. everyone on his team uses either the rival or lithium and this bat can compete with those bats. it has just as much pop as either bat. this bat is very well balanced.
Cons: bat will sting hands a little on miss hits but not to bad. the barell length is not as long as the rival.
Pros: This bat has nice balance and pop.
Cons: I have always purchased bats from the top brands, but took a chance on this one due to good reviews and price. The first bat has a rattle in it and the cap was popping off. They were great about exchanging for a new one. My son used the new bat in the cages today and the paint was coming off in flakes with every hit...there was a debri field in the batters box! The bat has great pop, but looked horrible after 2 rounds. The entire Miken sticker was gone. My son is 9 and about 67 pounds, so I would expect better durability for someone his size and strength. I am going to pay a few extra bucks for a brand that has held up year after year in the past for us. I think if Miken can figure out how to paint this bat correctly it will be a good one.
Pros: Sounds good when hit.Well balanced
Cons: Paint chipped after 3 games in one day
Pros: Incredible bat. More pop than the rival and the Prodigy.
Cons: Hard to keep the rest of the teams hands off it.
Pros: Great Bat, Lots of pop! Very balanced & swings easier than some smaller big barrells!
Cons: none!
Pros: great weight distribution and nice pop off the bat. Definitely seeing improvements in the quality of hits from the boys using this bat
Cons: like one of the others to submit a review, the labels (paint) began to chip off after the first game. Miken needs to get this resolved in my opinion. It does not affect the performance of the bat but over time is going to take away from the looks. I can envision the lables being completely gone after one season of use
Pros: Bat has great balance and POP! My son is 9yrs old and has been crushing the ball with this bat.
Cons: Bat dented after couple of months and paint chipped badly.
Pros: Just got my son a 28/18 RZR, had a 27/17 Rival, has more pop, Sound is awesome, and he says the weight distribution makes the bat feel lighter than the Rival. Graphics are cool too!
Cons: Grip is average.
Pros: Great bat hot right out of the wrappers. We play coach pitch and kids were lighting up our pitching coach. Thanks
Cons: Non
Pros: Great pop and well balanced.
Cons: Dents easy. Paint chips easily.
Pros: has more POP than Rival! Rockets off bat like Easton Stealth!
Cons: None
Pros: Bought this for my 8 yr old. He's 60 lbs. Bat feels lighter than 17oz. Grip is good, nice barrel size and cool graphics.
Cons: I haven't seen good pop yet. I was hoping to see better pop than prodigy, but none so far. I would buy different bat next time.
Pros: this bat rocks lots of pop and sounds nice when it hits
Cons:
Pros: So far we haven't found anything "bad" about this bat. It has a great sweet spot and it really makes great contact with the ball. Both my sons and I have used it in batting cages and it really connects, unlike other bats it seems to really pop the ball....
Cons: So far no complaints at all...
Pros: This Bat is absolutely amazing! My son had a 30/20 and first two hits were bounced off the fence! I think the Miken RZR: SLRZ10 Senior League has the best pop in the world!
Cons: You can't have a con with this bat!
Pros: Off the fence, in the gap, down the line, massive POP, Enough said.
Cons: none.
Pros: Great pop. Well balanced, not end heavy like other bats. Son plays 8U and half his team is now using this bat over their $200+ bats. Considering getting another one or the 2013 version.
Cons: None that would make me not buy this bat again or recommend it to anyone else.
Pros:
Cons: THIS BAT GOT ME home runs
Pros: kinda similar pop to the freak but its really really good.
Cons:
Pros: I really like this bat. Very well balanced and nice sweet spot. The ball really reacts well off the bat.
Cons: I purchased the 28/18 and wish that I would have purchased the 27/17. My 6 y.o was not ready for the xtra length and weight but he should be ready this spring.
Pros: This bat is very well balanced and my son has hit over 200 balls with a lot of pop!
Cons: None
Pros: Good pop, good grip
Cons: paint chiping off after first use
Pros: My son loves this bat. The first time he picked it up, he hit a home run with it. All I hear from my son, is how much he loves this bat. He has told all of his friends and they also want to use it.
Cons: Nothing, my son has nothing bad to say about his Miken....
Pros: We ordered two bat packs all were the RzR bats we played in a USSSA tournament last weekend the whole team used them and we had a combined 8 homers including my sons very first the bats have amazing pop we have the Louisville TPX Omaha 2012 with the same weight and length my son said it feels lighter my son loves his new bat
Cons: None so far
Pros: Bought this bat for my 10yr. His first hit was an absolute missle. Good pop in the bat.
Cons: None at this time.
Pros: Nice Bat, good pop. My son used an Easton Sv model before. This bat is same size and length but he feels it is lighter. He swings with more confidence. Ball jumps pretty good, big sweet spot.
Cons: Graphics chip fairly easy but graphics don't make the ball go so who really cares!
Pros: This bat is amazing.Gotta love the pop with this bat.All my 12u teammates want to use it. I just tell them "Get Your Own".
Cons: NOTHING AT ALL
Pros:
Cons: its good if you hit the sweet spot but anywhere else leaves a nasty sting.plus the barrel is extremly small so its hard to really jack one with this bat.
Pros: Bat ahs a ton of pop!!! Very well balanced my 12 year old loves it. We have two of them since he plays on multiple teams. He has about 500 swings on it and the bat is holding up great. I have not noticed any of the other issues that some reviewers have. TIme will tell we start playing in 3 days.
Cons: None so far
Pros: Bat looks nice has a lot of pop
Cons: After only using the bat for one weekend the paint started chipping off right away very unhappy with the quality of the paint on bat and customer service is terrible they would not take it back only exchange it even though it said on the reciept that it could be return with in 90 days.
Pros: Light Bat good pop
Cons: Bat is junk. had it replaced and after a few hits bat got the same loud rattle inside.Bat is not built for bigger kids with power.
Pros: this is a cold bat sweet spot awsome
Cons:
Pros: my son likes the looks a lot. he swings this 28-18 well. it seems to have some pop but who knows with all the new restrictions, if its more or less than other bats.
Cons: scratches & chips quite easily.
Pros: it's only been a day but i got this bat and the pop on this thing is flipping AWESOME, also the grip is sooooooooo amazing so far it's an amazing bat i'll be making updates but so good so far!!!
Cons: none so far.
Pros: Light weight, well balanced , lots of pop! My son has used this in the virtual cages (real baseballs)and hit with great bat speed (well balanced) He is in 7-8 players pitch using the 28 18 bat
Cons: None so far.
Pros: nice pop good balance couple of big hits I prefer it
Cons: just about 20 big hits already dented
Pros: Looks cool
Cons: The grip end came off in practice with an eight year old behind it.
Pros:
Cons: Unfortunately I cannot agree with the many positive reviews on here. This bat has nowhere near the pop as the Easton Rival and S3, in my opinion. Also, it cracked rather quickly... I am sending it back today under the warranty. I was hitting fly balls to the team with this bat, and then the S3... I would estimate the S3 was carrying 20 feet further with the same swings...
Pros: it has a good pop and grate power
Cons: the paint chips every time i hit the ball and it has no control
Pros: Price, size and weight.
Cons: Our team has 3 kids that play with this bat. Even when they hit it hard it seldom leaves the infield. No pop. I'd recommend spending another $50 and getting a different brands full alum senior model if in the market.
Pros: Great bat huge sweet spot!
Cons: bat broke after 2 months it had just a little crack at the top and hit a big fly to center and then it broke right where the ball hit the barrel
Pros: handling,weight balance,look's cool !
Cons: none
Pros: Beast bat awesome pop great design overall it has no dents for my son in 6 months im loving it!
Cons: nothing
Pros: Cool Brand
Cons: Dented like a pop can the first week!
Pros: none
Cons: Don't fool yourself, this bat is a coach pitch bat. It will not hold up to kid pitching. It is also 2 3/4 barrell size, which won't be legal in most tournaments. This bat is already denting and they have dropped the price 3 times. That should tell you something. Tried the Easton S1, it was awesome, far superior product. Cost more, but it will be more productive than this toy bat!
Pros: I love it. Has a lot of pop. The boys are hitting a lot harder with it
Cons:

Linda Expert · Oct 28, 2011
Just saw on a msg board this language from USSSA: This rule includes ALL Big Barrel Bats. Thus, if you have Big Barrel coach pitch bat with the old USSSA mark of “1.15 BPF USSSA†or “1.15 BPF USSSA†on the barrel, that bat (while legal because of that mark in 2011) cannot be used in 2012. Is the stamp on this bat compliant for 2012?

Yes this bat would have the USSSA & BPF 1.15 stamp on the bat.

It should be good to go, but there are a wide variety of rules when in comes to travel ball tournaments. I would recommend checking with your coach, but more than likely this bat will be acceptable.

I see that you said that the reason this bat is in closeout is because it is being discontinued, but this is a 2012 model. Can you provide any additional details as to why it is being discontinued already?

Miken has made some changes to the design of the bat.

what is the meaning of the length to weight ratio ?
Asked by eubie65 on Oct 03, 2011
It means the length of the bat, minus the weight of the bat. So if the bat is 30 inches and weighs 20 ozs. 30-20= -10 drop weight.

Is this approved for little league junior play
Asked by billy on Sep 13, 2011
If your league allows 2 3/4 inch barrels, then this bat should be allowed in your league. This bat comes with the USSSA 1.15 BPF on the barrel of the bat. I would recommend getting a hold of your coach to see what the rules of the league are.
