Pros: Son is 6 and 50 lbs swinging the 27"/17. Big barrel with good balance so swings lighter than weight listed. Much more balanced than the Easton Jr big barrel and pop seems the same or better also. We use regulation balls and it hasn't dented after 2 tournaments and many trips to the batting cage.
Cons: None.

A favorite of thousands of players each year, the Worth Lithium Edge Prodigy returns this season revamped, reloaded, and ready to rumble! The balanced one-piece design is ideal for younger players and features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp so it is legal in most leagues. The Prodigy is made from Lithium Alloy, the strongest aluminum in the Worth arsenal. It's strength allows for the thinnest walls and shells in the game, giving players maximum trampoline effect! Handle stiffness and barrel flexibility are optimized to provide the highest allowable batted ball speed. This barrel flexibility is enhanced through the Center Load endcap that is designed to give players 5% more inertia to drive through the ball. The handle is graced by Whiplash technology to create up to a 30% thinner taper for reduced weight and increased bat speed. The handle is then covered with a Silencer Grip to end sting and vibration so young players can swing with confidence. But the thing that keeps hitters coming back to the Prodigy year after year is... the MONSTER 2 3/4" BARREL! The hitting surface is like none other in the game, and this year is designed with stunning black on black graphics! Worth: Performance Through Technology! The Prodigy has a 1.15 BPF approval. It carries a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Ask QuestionHow does this compare to Easton JBB11X3? 6 yr old coach pitch league.
Asked by Dusty on Apr 16, 2012
Both the Easton XL3 Junior Big Barrel and the Worth Lithium Edge Prodigy Junior Big Barrel have similar designs. They are both one piece alloy bats and will perform just about the same. You can't really go wrong with either bat.

What ages is this bat recommended for? My son is playing kid pitch and is a hard hitter.
Asked by david on Apr 10, 2012
The Worth Lithium Edge Prodigy: YBJP10 is a coach pitch bat and should not be used in kid pitch leagues.

My son is 6 and playing in a machine pitch league (35 MPH). I was about to buy this bat until I saw it is really intended for Coach Pitch. What would you recommend for him in a big barrel without breaking the bank?
Asked by John on Feb 22, 2012
You are correct in that Junior Big Barrel bats are really meant for Coach Pitch leagues. The Easton Rival, Miken Freak 100, and Louisville Omaha are some good options at great prices.

Have a 5 year old (soon to be six). He weighs about 50lbs. This is his first year of baseball. Playing with a 6 year old team in Coach Pitch. His league requires BPF 1.15 certified bats. What do you recommend?
Asked by Anthony on Feb 21, 2012
A few of my top recommendations are the Easton JBB11X3, Louisville YB126BB, Worth YBJP10, Miken JRZR10, and Rawlings YB5J10.

Yes, it does have the USSSA stamp on the barrel.

My son is swinging a 29" 19 oz bat right now. Does this bat come in those measurements with the stamp and 2 3/4" barrel? He is a 4th grader but 120 lbs and 5 feet tall. He has a 29" 19 oz Rival. Thanks for yor help.
Asked by stephanie on Jan 23, 2012
This bat does not come in a 29" model. You probably would want to look at the Senior League models of this bat for that size.

How does this bat compare to the Easton V12?
Asked by Chris on Dec 16, 2011
Very similar, both are one piece all alloy bats and have nice pop.

Is this an appropriate bat for a league that uses a pitching machine that pitches at 35-40mph?
Asked by gtmom23 on Nov 17, 2011
Unfortunately this is designed for coach pitch leagues. This bat should not be used in machine or kid pitch due to the thinner walls inside the barrel.

What is the difference between the Senior and the Youth 2012 Worth Lithium Edge Prodigy bats? What is the D955 Lithium alloy over just Lithium alloy? I have a 8 yr old just starting kid pitch. He likes the Prodigy bat, so trying to fiqure out why I should spend 189 over 99$ for the 27in/17oz bat. Thanks for your help.
Asked by Jack on Nov 01, 2011
The Junior Big Barrel bats are intended for players 4-8 years old in Coach Pitch. Due to rule changes the bats couldn't say "Coach Pitch" on them. These bats have slightly thinner walls than Youth Big Barrel bats. As he gets older, and stronger, the durability of Junior Big Barrel bats might not be what you want.
· Nov 01, 2011
Is this bat marketed or marked for Coach Pitch? Just wondering because Dizzy Dean will not allow it to be used.
Asked by BlindDog on Oct 06, 2011
It does not say Coach Pitch on the bat, but that is what it is intended for. The manufacturers are doing their best to keep up with the many rule changes.

How is this compared to the Miken RZR?
Asked by baseball mom on Sep 15, 2011
The Worth YBJP10 is designed more for Coach Pitch leagues that use soft core baseballs. The Miken RZR is designed for hard baseballs and Kid Pitch leagues. If your player is in a Coach Pitch league, this will be the better bat and give them the most pop.
