Review Summary
based on 25 ratings. 25 user reviews.
The Worth Lithium Edge Prodigy Coach Pitch Youth Baseball Bat is great for children not ready for the length and weight of a Youth Baseball bat. The Lithium Edge features the Lithium D955 alloy, which is the strongest aluminum ever in a Worth baseball bat. It features an excellent hitting surface with the X-Tended Sweetspot Technology and Monster 2 3/4 inch barrel. The Lithium Edge also uses the Whiplash tension process, which stretches a thin tube into shape with hyper-thin walls. Therefore, Whiplash designs have the Prodigy enhanced with features of maximum bending to increase swing speed and power. Whiplash Technology reduces the thickness of taper sections for more flex. But the technology also creates lighter overall frames. The Silencer grip helps reduce sting and vibration for a comfortable swing. The YBPCP is designed for coach pitch leagues only. This bat comes with a twelve (12) month manufacturers warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Good pop and light weight for a 7 yr old.
Cons: Thick handle. Took the bat out for the first time and it has several dents and a huge flat spot on one side. He hit about 60 balls.
by Nola - Jun 07, 2010
Pros: This bat is awesome. My boy plays 7 coach pitch. He went 3 for 3 in his last game. His confidence is sky high since he started using it. About half the team is using it also and hitting very well. This is money well spent!
Cons: Nothing yet. I've seen the complaints about dents, but we have not experienced any thus far.

Cons: The paint chips and scratches easily, no dents yet and we have used it in batting practice for three weeks.
by bob - May 20, 2009

Pros: this bat has been great for my son. His contact with the ball has improved a great deal along with his confidence. His hitting distance has also improved.

by Tooly - Jun 23, 2009
Pros: Great bat for my 6 year old in 8U machine pitch. Great pop.Definitely levels the playing field. Much more durable than the other Coach Pitch bats that other players are using.
Cons: None

Pros: Good, light-weight, balanced bat for my small 7 year old. Was able to swing it better than the 27" senior league model
Cons: Used at practice 1st day after we received the bat. After 1st round of 15 balls, bat had 9 dents. Another player hit 2nd pitch off of end of bat resulting in 1" crack at end cap. Sending bat back to Worth. Suggest only using the bat during games. If used in practice have your return authorization ready. Ordered a 2nd identical bat from Just Bats to use in tournament this weekend. Will update
by Avenger Baseball - Dec 22, 2009
Pros: great pop dents a little but had tourney this weekend and first three hitters on my 8U team hit homeruns. Unbelieveable you will need to buy a few due to the dents. the best Coach pitch bat on the market.
Cons: cannot get them fast enough

Pros: Bought this bat for my son (who plays t-ball) and daughter (who plays coach pitch). I must say that this bat has made a difference in both of their hitting performances. Not to mention that the others kids on the teams think that its the "coolest bat ever" and are always asking to use it too. I highly recommend this bat.

My son is 7 in machine pitch. Machine speed is 35 mph. Is this bat good for that or will it dent often?
Asked by jg on Mar 26, 2012
This bat is meant for coach pitch leagues and for soft core baseballs. Using this bat in machine pitch will cause the bat to dent quicker.

Yes. This is a Coach Pitch bat with a 2 3/4 inch barrel.

My son is 5 and weighs 37lbs. Would the 15oz. be a good fit for him? He used aluminum 12.5oz last yr.

My son is 50 inches tall and weights about 54 lbs. He currently has a 25 in. 14 oz bat. I'm wondering what size we should move up to. 26 or 27 inch?
Asked by Gretchen on Dec 20, 2011
General rule of thumb is you don't want to move them up more than 1 inch or 1 ounce at a time, so as not to throw off their natural mechanics. A 26" bat may be the best for him.
· Dec 20, 2011
What is the least expensive bat that has the USSSA stamp cert. 26 inch 16 oz?

Without knowing the age and size of the player, check out the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha: YB126BB Junior Big Barrel.
